Gosh, maybe I need to change insurance companies. After I married, I called my insurance agent. I was told that Allstate would drop me for being married and my husband not having a US drivers license or social security number. I told him that my husband did not live here, but he said that Allstate would still drop me.:(

NEVER let ANY insurance company charge you a rate based on credit or even offer your SS number to them to give you a quote. If they can't go find someone who can. Progressive started basing the rates on credit instead of driving and accidents. Even if I get behind I have never had a ticket in years or gone without insurance because it's against the law. One has nothing to do with the other, because insurance always gets paid.

They don't charge you more for having poor credit because they are afraid of not getting paid. It's because, statistically, people with poor credit tend to have more accidents.

I really don't know what you are trying to get at... what we pay is cheap for the LA area....

Marilyn, look at the bright side. You don't have to live in Kansas.

exactly ..lol

I am not overly fond of living in LA but I do love all the stuff to do and see here...

I hear ya. I couldn't imagine living in a place where 'high cuisine' was Pizza Hut.

on the other hand, car jackers are pretty scarce around here. the biggest dangers i face driving home is deer crossing the road or a combine.

we have full coverage on two cars and we pay about 100 bucks a month...

:secret: we've got 3 and pay about $100 a month.

good for you....

funny how 3 in kansas costs less per vehicle than 2 in cali. ;)

Depends on the vehicle, doesn't it? A Porsche 911 GT3 is slightly more expensive to insure than an old clunker. :innocent:

I think the main reason is that the LA area has way more cars on the road the Kansas.. meaning more of a chance for accidents.. meaning higher insurance...

hey we have suicidal deer here! don't that count? :P
