Hi! I'm a legal permanent resident here in the US and my fiance is visiting me with a B2/Visitor's visa at the moment and we were hoping to get married while he's here but it seems to pose a lot of problems in having him stay here permanently and legally. I'd like to petition him under my permanent resident status but 2 lawyers have told me that it'll take at least 4years for that to be approved and it will then be upgraded once i get my citizenship, which will be in 2010. Looking for a H1B sponsor is taking a long time and we've resorted to filing for an extension of his visa so we could be together longer. But we have to face the truth that time will run out also and we're not even a step closer to the certainty of being together here. Is anyone out there who would know an easier way for me to petition him?

There is only one way for you to petition for him.

http://britishexpats.com/articles/usa/how-...ork-in-the-usa/ lists the various ways, well a synopsis.

What reason did you use for the extension?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
