Hello everyone,

Does anyone know what is the process when we come to an INFOPASS appointment? In other words, what is step by step of the INFOPASS appointment in local district office?

Thank you very much for your sharing!

Regards,

Lyn

You are asked for I D & appointment letter if you have it. Security checks the list to see if you are on it & sends you thru the security check. Inside you will give your papers to a check in desk & be given a number. That number is called & you are directed to a window. Explain why you are there & wait to recieve info that pertains to your case. Bring any documents you have about the problem along with your NOA 2 ect.

Actually, because something wrong in my local post office, I miss one letter from USCIS. I call in and request to re-send this letter back to me. This letter will direct me the processing steps. This letter doesn't arrive, yet, but another letter has arrived and request me to make an INFOPASS appoinment. I call in again and ask if I should wait for the letter I miss, or going ahead make an INFOPASS appoinment? They said it is up to me!

Should I wait for the letter I miss or going ahead make an INFOPASS appoinment?

Please advise.

Do not wait unless its difficult to go to Info Pass. At the Info pass meeting you will get a current info.

I would go to your post office & find out why they sent the letter back. Could be just a mistake by the carrier or something you need to do. Make sure the names of people recieving mail are inside your mail box.

What processing steps are you waiting for? That info can be found here on V J.

Thank you very much for your advice. I am waiting for an appointment to have finger prints and taking picture.

Will INFOPASS appointment do so? or something else?

I have looked for processing steps on VJ, but didn't see. Would you please direct me to this link.

Thank you

You dont provide enough info to be helped.

What type of visa?

See the Guides.

Fill in your timeline so people can help you.

No, info pass will not do the print or picture work. That is done at a different office .

Oh, sorry for that!

I applied for Green Card (form I-485). Since I've missed a letter from USCIS, my application has been pending.

I am waiting for an appointment to have finger prints and taking picture.

Should I wait for the letter I miss, which is on the way to me or going ahead make an INFOPASS appoinment?

Thank you

When I waited for such a letter & listened to the USCIS misinformation line I lost 60 days. Your letter could arrive tomorrow or it could come in 6 months.

When I went to Info Pass they told me they would look into the situation & see what they could do. They assured me it would be 30 to 60 days. They insisted it was a post office error & asked me to make sure my address was correct with the US post office. They assured me that USCIS had mailed the letter & it was sent back.

For reason I will never understand the letter arrived at my address the next day.

You can see that what you do is up to you but if you do nothing then nothing will happen. Or the letter will come tomorrow!

What you are waiting for is the biometric apponitment letter. Some people have said they went to get the biometric work done with no letter & were turned away. When we went for ours we had the letter. However they asked if there were people that didnt have thiers & let some come in that had other USCIS documents.

Thank you very much!

From your clear explanation, I understand what is going on. And as you said: "they asked if there were people that didnt have thiers & let some come in that had other USCIS documents". I thought they are just going by the book, step by step!

Thank you very much for your help!

Just remember that if you go to a USCIS office where they do biometrics work in your area they may not let you in without the appointment letter. As I said some people here on V J say they were not allowed in. The office I was at seemed to be slow & I assume thats why they decided to let the people with no letters in on that day.
