Hey guys, quick question, I received my visa back the end of April, and I still haven't moved. I am leaving Canada the end of August. It says the Issue date of April 20, 2009 and Expiration Date of October 16, 2009. But on the bottom it says Revalidated to August 16, 2009. What does that mean? Thanks.

I believe it is that the petition approval upon which the K-1 is based does expire and needs to be renewed so it is still valid. In your case it looks like its expiry date would be August 16th, which is before the 6 months of the visa validity expires, so they just automatically revalidate the petition so it remains valid throughout the whole time of the K-1 visa's validity. Does that make sense? I know there are cases where the petition expires even before the interview and they are automatically revalidated so it remains valid through the processing time.

So do I need to do anything I guess is my question....I just don't want to get to the border on the 30th of August to find out I can't cross. Thanks Kathryn

I'm only guessing, but I looked at your timeline, and your interview was REALLY close to the expiration of your NOA2. If they revalidated it for an additional four months (or whatever that translates into days- 120?) that would have a date around August.

K-1:

January 28, 2009: NOA1

June 4, 2009: Interview - APPROVED!!!

October 11, 2009: Wedding

AOS:

December 23, 2009: NOA1!

January 22, 2010: Bogus RFE corrected through congressional inquiry "EAD waiting on biometrics only" Read about it here.

March 15, 2010: AOS interview - RFE for I-693 vaccination supplement - CS signed part 6!

March 27, 2010: Green Card recieved

ROC:

March 1, 2012: Mailed ROC package

March 7, 2012: Tracking says "notice left"...after a phone call to post office.

More detailed time line in profile.

No - you don't have to do anything. You just need to show up at the border, present your visa and get it processed. You should be fine. They will go by the October date so you are well within the visa's validity period.
