I was reading up on the I-485 process.

I had the impression that I had to file at the Vermont Service Center, which I did for my visa.

We're in the process of dealing with our Adjustment of Status now, and I read somewhere that for Family-Based blah blah blah should be filed at Chicago, Illinois.

We live in New York.

Am I wrong?

Please let me know where I am supposed to be filing our papers.

Oh and also, it says that we can include Advance Parole, EAD, etc. Do we need to pay for each and every one of them or is the $300 somewhat dollars paying for all?

If you are filing for AOS your papers should be sent to these addresses depending if you are sending FED EX (private courier) or the post office.

If you go into the guide at the top of the AOS page you should be able to get the amount you have to pay for each paper that you submit.

I believe right now it's $395 for AOS, $180 for EAD and $180 for AP. But always double check on the USCIS website for the most up to date info and as Arwensun said, check the guides. They should answer pretty much all your questions.

AOS - $325

Biometrics - $70 (per person, doesn't matter if you are filing just AOS or all 3 concurrently)

EAD - $180

AP - $170

Some write one big check, some write one for each.

I don't think USCIS cares as long as the amount is correct (someone can correct if there is specific info on this).
