There has indescribable joy of winners, and there also has feelings of extreme disappointment of losers. However the game is over, and our New World Champion is Italy. They are the new owner of World Cup 2006 took place in Germany. They deserve to get the World Cup for their best affords. Let’s congrate to them :)

Wonder how many Australians are cheering?

Probably none and it honestly doesn't really matter anyway...they're not supposed to

I watched that game too. Some people were against the referee’s decision when he decided to let Italy get penaly. Others agreed with the referee. No matter whether the referee’s decision is right or wrong, we couldn’t go back to the past to change, right? Supposed that Italy didn’t play best in those previous matches, but they played very well at least in past three matches, did you feel the same to me? I, myself feel that Italy still deserver to be the champion this time.

It was a dive. The Australian defender never touched him. They were the best team today, but would they have been there if the ref had got the call right in the Australia game.

Your opinion. BTW The game was 0-0, I don't understand why some people assume that Italy would have certainly lost that game without that penalty...Australia had more ball posession but pretty much never really came close to scoring or pose real threats to the net. At the end of the day no goals no victory. I rest my case once and for all.

My opinon the freaking replay clearly shows the guy went down without being touched. Maybe Australia might have given up a goal and lost, but so might have Italy. The ref handed Italy the game, they didn't win it.

My bad, I actually read your previous post as "they wouldn't have been there..." instead you wrote "would they have been there"...sorry  Gosh I need some sleep after such an intense day.. I actually meant the same...we'll never know who would have won that game, so it really doesn't matter anyway.

Guys, in my opinion, it’s supposed that if Italy didn’t have penalty, I still would not believe that Australia could pass the match. Why? Because as far as I know this is the first time for Australian team to come back this World Game after so many years ago they were disappeared, so let’s say they are newcomers here, while Italy are really big team (you can look back the history at least in last two World Cup which was hold in France and Japan-Korea), all Italian football players are good ones, and if there were no penalty for Italy, it’s not likely Australia would win, they have less experience than Italy.
