I have applied on-line for my ESTA and was approved and sent my application number.

What I need to know is should I have any paperwork with me when I get to the airport or will it be picked up when my passport is electronically read?

I will take a note of my application number as a just in case but would appreciate it if anybody can tell me if they have traveling using their ESTA?

Thanks.

No, I dont have a green card because we came to live in the UK and I stopped my application. Far too long a story to go into but it was a nightmare and coming back together was really our only option.

We have been back four years now and Wyatt (US Citizen) has permanent residency here. We are returning for a holiday and I want to cover every avenue there is so I don't get turned away because I might not have the correct visa, an immigration officer does not like my face or the fact that my passport still holds the cancelled visa and they might think I'm trying to come back and live there.

Then I'm afraid I can't answer your question.

My answer was going to be "you don't need to do ESTA if you have a Green Card, it's only for people using the VWP". Hopefully someone who does know will come along soon. Sorry! :D

Hi.... I guess you should bring a print out of the approved ESTA application or at least, write down the application number.... They can still deny you entry to the US. Probable not, but if the officer happens to have a "bad day" anything is possible.... But you should not worry! I'm 99% sure they will let you into the country.(unless you lied on any of the ESTA application q's....)

Good luck! :)

I just printed the page (2 lines of writing) off the computer. Never been asked for it by an US officials but was asked at Heathrow, by an airline worker/security, before I flew out in July. Maybe it'll be another of those things that if you have with you, you'll never be asked for.

Thanks a lot everybody

I did try and print out the page but for some strange reason it wont do it so I have written down the number on my paperwork.

Only two weeks this friday now and starting to get excited now but I'm still betting that I will get pulled in for questioning as I am still using the same passport and it has my fiance and spousal visa in there!

I've been to the states 3 times now since they introduced the ESTA. Although I printed out the information (yes, only a couple of lines) I've never been asked to show it. Basically, providing you got it accepted and confirmed online, that's all you have to do. But, take a copy of the number with you just in case it's needed.

Ha... yeah, that's a pain isn't it. I think that's just going to be used 'in addition', until people are fully aware of the new system - who knows how long that'll take?!?
