hi ''just have a question ..last june26 our k-1 was approve then after a week my fiancee receive our noa2 then another mail saying that a week from now i will receive a mail from USEM..but until now i don't have that mail, then last week my fiancee call the nvc and they gave us our case no# so what do you think guys should we call the usem then set for my interview or what..pls help!

I would contact the embassy - since you have the NVC number to reference your case.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

He did NOT receive a letter saying that "a week from now you will receive a letter from the USEM" You and/or he are imagining things.

He received a letter from NVC which said they had the approved petition and that the approved petition would be forwarded to the USEM "within a week". AFTER the USEM gets this THEN they will send you packet three at some later date. DO NOT expect anything within a week or three or four. Do not expect that NVC really sent it within a week.

Typically it takes 3-4 weeks just for USEM to receive the petition and enter it into their system and then you wait for them to send packet 3 unless you have already downloaded all the forms and prepared them and arwe not sitting around waiting for USEM.

You can call the consulate and ask if they have your case in the system yet. Refer to the case number NVC gave you.
