Well, the lower league fixtures kicked off today, with Pardew's red 'n' white army picking up a point against Millwall (I would have predicted that, btw). Toon are playing later at The Hawthorns (and I take West Brom to win out 2-0 there, fwiw).

But our little compo starts next week with the commencement of the PL games, and our players this seasons are:

So two new players, same number of teams - works for me.

I'll try and get each week's fixtures up on here by Tuesday or Wednesday (I forget sometimes, so bear with me) and all predictions must be in prior to the first fixture's KO time. Failure to submit your scores by the deadline does not, however, result in "nil points" but rather the handing down of a "RKL penalty", that being the week's lowest score being awarded to the player that didn't submit in time. I added this in because people do forget from time-to-time, and this way they don't become too discouraged (if they got a big, fat zero, then they might just say, "** it" and jack it in).

An updated table will be displayed along with the list of fixtures each week, with the parenthesised figure indicating the number of jokers each player has remaining.

I'm stunned. We've sold almost every one of our team last year that showed any class, we still aren't officially taken over, we have no recognised striker worth a bean, we have a manager with the imagination of an apathetic aardvark and yet we beat Glasgow Rangers 2:0 in a pre-season friendly.

Should I have hope for the season, or is this just a freak result preceding a season of doom?
