I know every experience is unique and each case is different- but for those who have had to deal with the embassy in Kingston for Jamaican immigrants - whats the BIGGEST piece of advice you can share? The things I worry about are, should I get a lawyer? Some have told me that a lawyers letterhead on submission of docs is going to better you chances at a smooth process. Some people have told me the embassy in Kingston moves at a snail's pace and are known for rejecting visas just for the "h3ll of it" I'm stressed..

Any words of advice on this? How many of you have elected NOT to hire a lawyer for your CR1 filing?

That is BULLSH!T about the need for a Lawyer's Letterhead to get approved. Hmmm, would it surprise you if a Lawyer started that rumor?

Just go overkill on proving that your relationship is BONAFIDE and connect here with other VJ'rs who have gone ahead of you and had a successful outcome. You will do just fine doing your petition by yourself and asking questions here. If you run into heavy sarcasm from some defective people here, just send the offenders to me, and I will set them straight.

Ne sure to hit some of that fine Jamaican Rum and visit Trench TOwn when you are there, the home of Bob Marley.

Good Luck on your Visa Journey!!
