Strange problem with Mozilla 3.5

I just realized that I can no longer right click to copy in web pages or paste in boxes I can type in like this one. When I right click nothing happens. I can right click on everything else like files on my computer or even into the URL window of Mozilla. It is only text boxes and web pages. I am using Mozilla 3.5. It seems to have started after a Mozilla update today.

ETA.. I tried updating my mouse drivers. No change when I did that.

Sounds like the default configuration is a bit different. Kind of weird for Mozilla if it is the case. Check the Tools/Options tabs and see if anything under advanced settings will allow you to manipulate the mouse/browsing interaction. Might be as simple as clicking a box or button.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

That might be it as well too.

Also could be an add-on that changed its config in the update.

There are some sites that have copy protection on....like Snopes. You can't just select text to copy it.

I can't paste into VJ's post box either. I just tried to copy a Yahoo story. I can highlight it but when I right click nothing happens. No box or anything.

I looked at the options in Mozilla. No mention anywhere on right click mouse settings.

Mozilla 3.0 did this to me once and I had to reload it. Now I have added Google Chrome and I found it's much faster than IE or Firefox and with a simpler tool bar.

Hmmmm...

Have you tried this in IE?

It works in IE. This looks like a Mozilla problem alone. I also think it is a setting somewhere, I just can't find it.

Cool. At least you know its not a hardware fault. Or reloading the update to 3.5.

But that nugget suggests its a settings change from the earlier version or perhaps an add-on app you may have installed.

I finally found the problem. It was Yahoo toolbar. It is not compatable with the new version of Mozilla.

Ahhh... well... at least you'll have one less piece of RAM-robbing software... I avoid add-ons and plug-ins that I know I won't use.
