ya'll remember that the next time the sirens (police, ambulance, fire) keep you awake at night :D

You know what keeps me awake at night? The deathly quiet of the suburbs.

He's rural, can you please point your fire in the right direction? My suburban neighborhood resembles that remark.

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.

I'm not surprised Idaho missed the list. We actually had a several million surplus when Kempthorne was Governor and they gave some of it back to us in tax refunds. I wonder how we're doing now though?

Idaho is conservative. That's why.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Senator Barack Obama
Senate Floor Speech on Public Debt

Getting back to the original topic, if an analysis was done county by county, we are doing great up here, but our property taxes are going up another 5% so we can send money to Milwaukee and Madison, and that is what tees me off.

Idaho now has a deficit like 48 other states.

Right when Kempthorne had successfully announced the Idaho surplus around 2005 and right before Kempthorne accepted the Secretary of the Interior position in 2006 he signed a 1.6 Billion highway funding for Idaho roads and said it needed to be done and will help increase tourism. A lot of it has already been done but I can see where the deficit comes into now. When looking at that graph for Idaho though I don't understand how there is a deficit predicted for some future years and then there is no deficit predicted for other future years?
