Correct me if I am wrong, coz I think you can get a SSN before you get married for a k1 visa but after you get married you can get SSN unless you do have an EAD(k1):innocent:

It's better to worry about SSN when you are already married then you don't have to go back to the SSN Office to change your name. Just relax and know that your man will be with you now, will help you what to do and always read information here as well as USCIS sites to make it more clear to you.

and oh...you can't dictate people on what to say..they will say what they suppose to say it.

Phopho... the question is what do you want to do when you get to the US? I would suggest that you read the other forum here in VJ.. The adjustment of status forum would help you a lot.

Getting married, applying for SS and AOS are the normal path that you have to go to.

Try to google for wedding in the US, go to social security website to get better understanding and read the AOS forum to have better idea for your adjustment of status.

The next item you have to think about is how to keep your sanity once you get to the US, how to prevent boredom, how to move forward with your career, how to establish independence in the US.

I will go back to my question "what do you want to do in the US?". Once you are able to answer it.. then you could plan out your activities.
