Well for us we never got packet 3, luckly we knew that it was part 1 of that other form sorry can't remember the name of the form. But we got an appt for the following week once I emailed them about dropping it off, once A dropped it off they emailed me the next day or two with our interview date... The turn around hasn't been that quick for everyone, but this was our experience.

But you are doing K3 not sure if it works the same way we did K1.

Thanks for the reply :) I hope it does work that fast, my hubby sent it back by register mail yesterday, and he was told the embassy would get it today, so now I guess we just have to wait and see. once again thanks for the reply, one more ?.. my hubby forgot to add his children to the DS230, they were added in the petition I did here in the states, can he add them on @ the time of the interview? or is do we need to do another DS230? thanks for ur help :)

MrsH, you might call/email the embassy or NVC and ask. The NVC # is 603-334-0700 option 1, option 5 to speak to someone.

Hi,

You may wish to call the Department of State 202-663-1225 press 1 and then 0 make sure you have your Kingston case number ready. Ask the person if your DS230 has been entered into the system. They can give you an updated status from the Embassy...such as when the DS-230 was entered/processed...etc. You can then send an email to the Embassy requesting an interview date.

I think I would submitt another ds-230 or send them an e-mail asking if you can add the names. That way you run into no problems later.

Jawi I'm not sure if the NVC has access or can see her paperwork as the interview date and all that is being done by Kingston. This was the case for me when doing the k-4 for the girls.

You are right Jengs...the NVC cannot see case status updates...however, the Department of State can. They provided all the updates to me after my K1 case got to the Embassy...such as the DS-230 was received and processed. The Embassy answered with my interview date before I had to use the DOS for that info. Gillian got her interview date information from DOS instead of the Embassy if I remember correctly.

Two different government agencies. The NVC knows nothing after they forward your case to the Embassy.
