Will USPS Forward Greencard???

OK, while looking through another immigration site I read that the US Postal Service will not Forward Perm residency cards to a new address...can anyone confirm this?

I am eagerly awaiting my actual green card 9 I got my approval letter back in May) and still no sign of it...I have moved since I filed the 751 and just recently submitted my change of address with USCIS, although I changed it with US Postal Service right away. (long story, I wasn't sure if I was actually going to move there permanently).

Does anyone want to hazard a guess as to what may have happened? I'm thinking USCIS may have sent it to my old addy, and then USPS may not have forwarded it. Would it then go back to California? I know I should call the 1800 number, but I always like to find out as much info as I can before I call, and this board is so amazing with this stuff.

If anyone has any thoughts, puhlease let me know.

Thanks@

They won't forward it. Try to contact your congressperson's immigration specialist and see if they can find out what happened to the card.

If returned, they may be able to send it to the new address since you did do AR-11.

The envelope definitely says No Forwarding Service on it. While I was going through this same hassle when doing the I-751 since we were moving at the same crucial time, I was recommended to send a change of address notification to CSC also, in addition to AR-11 and pending case address change that you do online that goes to VSC. I just sent a letter to CSC to the address on the approval letter in Laguna Niguel, with my case number, A number and copies of the AR-11 and pending case address change from online. They sent my GC to the right address.

Hope this helps!

Filed: Timeline

GC are not forwarded.

If you move during a process with USCIS; you not only have to send in the AR-11 + I-865; but it is recommended you make an Infopass appointment to make sure they change your address. So make an appointment asap.

If the GC is returned to USCIS as undeliverable; you would have to file for a new one and pay the fee for it.
