Hey guys, sorry to hear about all of you still in AP. Wish you all luck. I have a question. Does anyone know about what happens after the immigrant gets to the us? I'm wondering how long it took for a social security card and green card. I'm not sure if we have to apply for them or if they automatically get mailed to us? Please share your experience. I want to get his stuff right away so he can look for jobs and such. Thanks a lot and good luck.

We were wating for our SSC to arrive in mail but after two weeks we just went ahead and applied for it since I only had one month to put him on my insurance at work after his arrival date.. We went to the office again after three days, got the number and then the card arrived the following week so yes you have to go and apply for it because I dunno anyone who just received it in mail.

We received SSC and green card in mail the same day.. one month after his arrival :)

Is your husband here yet?

i have been calling embassy many days but never get a hold of them and did not got to talk to anyone and today for the first time in 6 months i was successful to call Embassy and got to talk to a live person i asked him my case status he said AP and i asked him well its been 6 months and surely my medical is expired he said if embassy will need anything from u they will call you. thats the update.

embassy says that every case is different but they should not take long time , i think they just make people wait to see if their relation is strong even when they waiting if they will break their marriage or fed up of waiting game.

theres a woman on visajourney and shes petitioner and after 10 months of her fiance visa she received a call from embassy officer asked her if she was still in relationship and she said yeah and after some days her fiance received the visa. they wanted to make sure if they still have relationship after 10 months of waiting.

I know Ap is realy hard and all we can is wait and wait. In Ap, we have no idea, when will finsih and no time line from Embassy. But one thing for sure, personaly I dont think they putting people on Ap to see if they have good relation or they still together. My father is also on AP for 2 months now and I also read few days back someone father is on AP about ten months or more..not sure.

No one realy knows, what they do in AP, but has to do some kinda back grond etc.... But all can do pray and Goodluck

Asalamulaikum everyone, I hope all are doing well and in good health

About the social security card, we applied february 22 and received it today. On the card, it had the date 2/22/2010 which was the date of issue and on the envelope it was stamped february 26 for postal and it came today. I hope that is a precise timeframe for any of you who are concerned about how long it takes for the social security card to come.

Thanks Abenitez. I am so glad your hubby will be coming to you soon. I am glad you are concerned with our cases. I am still praying Surah Quraish everyday on top of my normal prayers. I hope it will help. Zaheer's Pir Shaib, or whatever he is, I am not sure exactly, he said that someone had been praying against us, and he is going to try to correct it with prayer. So, please, any and all additional prayers are much appreciated. Its 2 more weeks til the surgery. I am excited, but this also gives me strange dreams. Haha. I keep dreaming about the tv show, Scrubs. LoL. I keep hoping that Patricia and Rana bhai hear something soon, as well as I go to bed at night praying that Zaheer wakes me up to tell me that the Embassy called him. That would be such wonderful news. I do still wonder daily what makes some cases go slower than others... but I guess there really is nothing we can do. I wanted so badly to have him here. We got our approval notice back in August. It had the priority dates on it Aug 28-Dec 28th. Well, as you can tell, that was a long time ago. Even when i asked the Embassy about the priority date they said that they are in charge of issuance so they don't go by the priority dates. oh well. good luck to all.

Does anyone know how long it takes for final review of visa? As i have said earlier my Administrative processing was over on January 20th, visa was issued on January 21st, and the embassy called me to submit my passport on January 22nd. Its been 41 days now since the visa has been issued and i still havent gotten my passport back from the embassy. However there was a +tive response from the embassy on Monday(March 1st) that it is under final processing now. Does anyone know how long it takes for final review/final processing? For all those who have "VISA IN HAND" did anyone of you get similar responses from the embassy, and how long does final review actually take? I am so fed up i never saw anyone who had to wait this long to get their passport back from the embassy.I know u have to wait sometimes a verryyy loongg time for AP to be over but i never heard of anyone waiting this long to get their visa after its been issued. Even Feisal received his passport back in 42 or 43 days after visa issuance. I even asked the embassy if they lost my passport and they said no. and if thats not the case what on earth is taking so long? can someone plzzz help me figure out what is going on. Thanks in advance and lots of prayers for everyone to get out of whatever mess they are stuck in.

Hey everyone. well, Zaheer talked to that Pir Sahib (or whatever he is, I am unsure if he is Pir or not) from Wazirabad and he said that someone was praying against us and that he was going to pray for us. He said Insha'Allah everything will be fine soon and for us to both continue our prayers. Well, today I have been awake since 3 am because being pregnancy, I just can't get comfortable to sleep. So, I was getting ready to sleep just now, even though its 9am, I just tried to called DOS. I spoke to Anna on Monday, as I said and she said no updates. As I said before she sounded like she had a headache and didnt really say anything but AP pending and no updates. So this time I spoke to Sarah. She came back on the phone without even asking Zaheer or my name, just case number and said "Ma'am, the Embassy has been trying to call your husband for 2 weeks!" I said "Really!?" then she said "Yes, they cannot get ahold of him on the phone number provided." and I said "He called them and gave them his new phone number over a month ago." and she said "Oh, well they have been trying to call him since February 24th and they also just called him yesterday, so... can yu please tell our husband to call the embassy?" and I said "I definitely will! Do you know why they are calling him? Do they need info from him?" and she said "I think so, maybe. Just have him call them back." and I said "Oh yes I will! Oh, by the way, are there any other updates?" and she said "No, nothing that I can see." so I was just like "Oh, well thank you so very much!"

So... I cant contain myself!! What do you guys think? You think they want him to submit his passport? Or you think maybe they want brother/sister info? What would you all say???? Any of you who were asked for additional info, how long did it take after that for them to request your passport? Oh, thanks be to Allah! Allahu Akbar! I am just so happy I cant stop shaking and Zaheer was like so excited he couldn't stop getting teary eyed. And he was saying "Wow, maybe if they want my passport, if they had known my new number (which we sent them on Jan 12 and they updated system), maybe I could Definitely be there in time to see the baby's birth!!" Oh, please people, please please pray for us! Please. take care all. Allah Hafiz and good luck to all.
