hey guys,

i know a lot of you are in bed at the moment, but being from Australia, i am up and i am really stressing. i hate to put a downer on the exciting June filers news of so many NOA2s.. but i am starting to stress about my situation.

i havent really discussed it much in detail, but basically, my husband hasnt been employed by an actual employer since 2006 Tax was done. he still lodged for 07 and 08 and put down "odd jobs" and his income was realllllly low, like under $5,000.00 but anyway, the point is, we have a co sponsor, his dad, sorted out, but i am pre filling the I-864 and I-864A so i can get things moving quickly once the NOA2 comes in and i have come to a point where i am really stressing.

his dad is retired, and that is fine and all, but the reason my husband doesnt have a job is because he moved back home to care for his dad. his dad has bad diabetes and other health issues so my hubby is at home full time caring for him and helping his mom too. his dad really should be in care, but isnt, and so my hubby stays home and cares for him, does all the yard work (big property) and any cooking, cleaning etc. its a full time carer role, but basically, he has no income. his mother just pays for all food and he obviously doesnt pay rent or anything.. he just lives there and they pay for whatever he needs.

once i get there, hubby and i will be living there til i find work, then we will move out and hubby will probably get work again, and his dad will by that stage be in some kind of, at least, part time care at a facility, or in home care will be organised.

ok, so the thing is... the immigration dudes dont care about this. im sure!

all they care is we have income...

so, the co sponsor thing.. is his father. and he is retired of course, and receives a $70,000.00 approx. per annum income from his old employer he retired from, he used to be a biologist, so was earning good money... and he also has stocks and a house he owns.. so thats fine.

but the problem is, will the immigration people think its bad that my hubby has no income at all really for 07 and 08, and is still unemployed and not receiving unemployment benefits at all?

on top of this, will they think it strange that the co sponsor who is his father, is also someone who my husband has to care for (do i even tell them this??) and if so, will they think, because he is retired and in a wheelchair, that it is not enough as a co sponsor, even though he makes a lot of money from his retirement income?

i am so F**KING stressed about this. its got to a point now where i really dont know who to turn to.

my poor husband is so stressed too as he is trying to do his parents a favour by looking after his dad as long as possible so he doesnt have to move into an old folks home, even though he is only in his 60s.. he has so many issues that my husbands mom alone couldnt look after him.

god.. i dont know what to do.

i guess i just lodge it when the time comes and they will ask questions if need be... but i am just so worried that they will look at this as more of a "oh your husband/petitioner is out of work" and "co sponsor is also retired.. hmmmm" - is this enough income if it is not coming from an actual working wage.. more so a retirement income?

sorry, im blabbing. no one probably knows the answers.. but i just needed to talk to someone.

i was crying at work today and i have had a few sick days lately and my boss is getting suss im sure, and i just feel like i have so much on my shoulders.

:(

Dear Dona dont be stressed ur case is not complicated as u r thinking , i know about a case like u and according to that case Immigration Authorities has no concern that y ur hubby is not doing a job , they will just look at co-sponser (ur father in law's ) income , and as u told that is enough so there will be no problem in ur case , beleive me everything will be fine , and just be ready for NVC as ur NOA2 is coming soon .

dont be worried at all , cheer up

Baltar, she doesn't have a record of her vaccinations, so she had a titre test done. With that, she can compare it to the panel physician list and get the shots ahead of time. You cannot have the medical exam until you have the interview letter.

ohhhhh..

But would it be a problem if she doesn't get the shots ahead of time? i thought the panel physicians can give vaccines too?

I think you can get the shots later on too. You don't have to start early. Some shots have to be taken every 3 months or so, in that case they give you one shot over there and basically you have to complete it when you come to the United States.

Hi Donna,

Im glad to know that you are feeling better now! We almost have the same things in mind, the frustration of not being approved and not having NOA2. Remember I posted that we got touched last August 21, 2009? I am not sure if that is a real USCIS update to show that it is on the move cause me and hubby called USCIS that day. Its more that 2 weeks now and no update after that. I am getting frustrated that other people are being approved before us, we filed our papers May 28, 2009 and got the NOA2 on June 8,2009. Im trying to be patient but it feels so unfair to wait like this.

REgarding taxes, I am thinking about that as well as hubby was fired in the hotel where we used to work and he found a job which offers minimum salary.

I hope eveything will be alright and we will receive our NOA2 soon. Im getting crazy waiting for the first approval!

Hey,

Don't worry you will get your approval soon. The only reason I got mine early was because I contacted the senator's office to handle my case and they probably inquired about our case from time to time. People say that if you annoy USCIS they delay your case, but I don't think I believe in this. The senator's office people inquired about our case almost every week and we got approved 2 months earlier than expected. I don't know what else to say, but I hope that you will be approved soon.

Hello everyone! I know I've posted how frustrated I am with this process! I am happy for all those approvals but I am still wondering why our papers were not approved yet! I keep on asking myself if there is/are problem/s with our application. I am trying to be patient and calm on this but my frustration is killing and even my work is getting affected. My heart is crying cause of this depression, missing hubby a lot and the feeling of being married but you cannot do your responsibility as a wife (well i think all of us).

I just hope that the rest of June filers will get their NOA2 soon!

Goodluck everyone!

 i wish i would have filed in february when they were approving in a month :P we were very close to getting married on my february trip, but i wanted to wait some more time for our k1 to die, and decided to wait until september. however, we got tired of waiting, and plane tickets were cheap, so we got married in May

sorry for the story, i am sitting on a pretty boring training call :o

I have a question. Obviously, all of us filed in 2009. So the tax returns we must submit to NVC are tax returns/transcript 2009, 2008 (optional), and 2007 (optional)? Is that right?

But how can you send or show them your 2009 tax return, if for example, the tax season has not even started yet??? Are you stuck until the 2009 tax return becomes available like around January or February?

I get my W-2 form from my employer around last week of January. And that's the only time I can file for my 2009 tax return.

Thanks,

Ryan

the last 3 years would be 2006-2008. you cannot submit 2009, but can do your last paycheck (if it shows accumulation of paydays) or some have submitted the last 6 months of paychecks.
