my wife's friend received her interview letter 3 days before her interview day, can she calls the consulate to reschedule her interview day???????????

According to the US consulate website in Ho Chi Minh She can but she has to wait about 3 months for them to reschedule.

How can I re-schedule an interview appointment?

If you have missed your interview appointment or you would like to re-schedule an upcoming appointment, you should send a written request to our office for a new appointment. The re-scheduled interview date will be approximately three months after we receive the written request. Your case may be terminated if you fail to pursue the application within one year of the original interview date.

She can still try to go to the interview. Dich Vu office I went to said some beneficiaries go to the medical exam on the same day of the interview. Maybe she can get her paperwork in as fast as possible and try to get the medical exam ASAP. She will probably have to go through Dich Vu and pay a little bit more to go to Cho Ray and she might still make the interview. Gotta give it a try.. Good luck to your friend.

someone else had this happen a couple of months ago. The wait was actually not 3 months...more like a few weeks, if I recall correctly. They may put 3 months in the FAQ to discourage people from making arbitrary schedule adjustments. Also, if the reason is due to late mail delivery in VN, the consulate may be sympathetic.

thanks all, my wife talked to her friend, she called dich vu, but dich vu said not enuff time. she will go for her interview then medical exam later.

have her call the consulate, or if she is in HCMC, go to the information window. Odds are it is a typo. The same thing happened to us, but then got notification of the correct date. My guess is the interview is 33 days away instead of 3. The consulates offiec will straighten it out when she points out the error
