I dont know if anyone can help me out but it would be really cool if they could lol.

Im going to be moving to Nebraska, Bellevue.

I have a canadian G2, I was thinking to get my G but it will cost me 100$ and I read that most states make you take the writen and drivers test again anyways? Does anyone know if they do that in nebraska? Or do they just convert over my license to their state license? (would be really nice )

I searched all over nebraska DMV website but i cant find anything anywhere about changing it over at all!!

It will be a waste to pay 100$ and then just have to retest completely for a license there.

I dont have alot of cash and its tapping us out pretty quickly specially saving for AOS lol.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

I saw your posting in the Canada forum...I too looked at the Nebarska DMV site, and it's the lousiest site for information.

First off, I noticed there doesn't seem to be a "graduated" license in this state, so I don't know that your not having a full license is going to affect anything. Secondly, it appears there are some changes to the DL requirements coming July 20, 2009, but when I clicked on that link to see what changes, it's a dead link.

Personally, I'd just send an email from that page, and just ask them when you should come in, what you need as identification and what requirements they expect...eg. written, road test, or nothing.

I'd not be wasting the money to get your license upgraded I wouldn't think.

I have no idea what the DL requirements or classifications are in Canada, but most US states won't even automatically transfer a driver's license from another state. California, for example, will allow you to drive with a license issued in another state for as long as the out-of-state license is valid UNLESS you become a resident of the state, in which case you have to get a California license within 10 days. The only difference between getting a California license for the first time and getting a license if you've had a license in another state is that they might wave the driving skills test, but they require the written exam and vision test in any case.

Most states will allow you to drive temporarily on a foreign drivers license, but you'll probably have to apply and test for a new drivers license in the state just as if you've never had a license before. I expect you'll have to take a written test no matter what the circumstances are, since each state has it's own traffic laws.
