If they are filing for the I130 (as part of the AOS process) - them sending proof of relationship is appropriate. Might just be me, but some replies almost seem like pointing - hey thats not necessary!! BAD LAWYER BAD!!! Not everyone adjusts from a K3 or K1.

We adjusted from VWP. We did send some proofs-lease with our names, affidavits, etc. Just not photos at that time, those we brought to interview. IO liked them. :D

Yes but the AOS petition 'package' and an I-130 'package' are not the same thing nor is any evidence shared.

And that is relevant how?

All we know from the original post is that someone is adjusting status. We don't know which category they are adjusting from and we don't know which 'package' they are talking about.

In a casual conversation with a coworker regarding submitting photos - should they have been naming off each application number they filed, in what envelopes, and addresses they sent to? Of course I am teasing, I just don't see why this makes a difference.

To answer the initial question, I don't see what the problem would be in submitting "fun" photos.

A fellow in my husband's company is going through Adjustment of Status for his wife. They have a bunch of photos taken on rides at theme parks -- the sort of pictures they snap going on roller coasters and the like. They also have a bunch of "regular" photos. The guy didn't feel confident enough to file for AoS on his own, even though we assured him that it's really not that complicated if you read this site, so he hired an immigration lawyer. Now, I've met this lady, and to her credit, she's very nice, seems very knowledgeable, and is extremely attentive to this guy and his wife -- she doesn't treat them like dollar signs, she's constantly checking in with them, letting them know what's going on, and is very prompt in filing everything. She comes very highly recommended.

However, I was surprised to hear she had told this couple that she didn't think sending the theme park photos was a good idea. She said they were too "silly", and they should stick with "regular" pictures. When we filed for K-1, my husband and I used a bunch of pictures from a recent trip to Disney World, all on coasters or rides, and the officer at my appointment actually laughed and said he'd never had anyone submit them, but he thought it was a good idea because you could tell the looks of terror on our faces weren't faked. The couple isn't worried about not taking the park photos to an interview because they have so many others. I just thought it was strange and thought I'd ask.

Is she right? Does immigration really prefer to see "serious" photos? I would have thought any and all photos of the couple together as long as you could see them clearly would be great.

Other than for passport photos...no. No problem.

Don't think it matters, what they don't want is to see naked pictures or proof that his private parts go into her private parts.

Um, well...but wouldn't that..uh....Oh never mind!
