It doesn't make this murder any less heinous than dozens or hundreds of others - it does beg the question though as to why we should fixate on individual stories for the purposes of saying:

Why should we fixate on the waterboarding of JUST THREE terrorists (who by the way are still alive and well)?

Likely because our government was responsible for it. "Not in my name..." - and all that...

excuse me i dont know if that was directed at me but i will answer anyway, i have lived in the situation of not knowing if i or my family was next, being in Pakistan after 911 in places like Multan and a few others made it very difficult........why?

just being an American at that time put a price on our heads. These same type of people that did the killing of the Christian decided that any American in Pakistan should be killed, because we were not able to return to the USA at that time, our family was moved many times to protect us.

I know that's a weak comparison to the Danish cartoons, but you also have to consider that the media was used on a large scale to mock religion. Would that go over here if it were Christians as the target?

Perhaps you will show me a website like "thereligionofpeace.com" that lists all the very common violent acts carried out by christians on a daily basis against abortion doctors who deliver viable children and then crush their skulls to kill them. maybe a website that details the christian's violence against muslims in which they blow themselves up in markets and restaraunts or crash airplanes into office buildings.

Well (no offence Mark) but you do have a fairly flexible and relativistic concept of morality.

For me - the issue with regards to torture had little to do with the procedures (or who it was done to) but with the US government twisting legalities and definitions not only to make it possible but to pretend that they were doing something other than what they were.

Not every follow the Christian faith to the exact verbatim. People have common sense. There are violent people, and there are non-violent people. In this case, the person is free to choose his faith. what i saw over there to tell u the truth is many many very poor people that could not read or write in any language that wanted their children educated so badly that they sent them for free education because they could not afford private or government education. Sadly these kids were taught a lot more than what their parents sent them to learn and they were taught Islam from extremest. these same parents also only know what they were taught about Islam from extremest.

u want to cure extremest and this wrongful behavior? the blame should be on the Pakistani government for not offering FREE education to the children. there are government schools but the people that use these schools have to purchase the books to learn from and all the supplies that are needed, parents there are like parents every place they want a better life for their kids, education is a beginning, extremest took advantage of that.

putting the blame on all Muslims such as myself is not the way to solve the problem, maybe it should not be a problem for the USA but has became a problem for all country's.
