my wife got her 2 year green card and we didnt change her name, we never changed it cuz i just wanted everything to be the same as her passport. but my question is, after months of nagging she wants me to get it changed, how to go about doing this? i know her state id and ss card will be easy to change but i just dont know how i can get her green card and passposrt changed. thanks

I would nag you to, that was a ,,,,never mind. You apply for the card in the name you want on the card. You attach copy of your marriage license to show the name you are changing to. Urgggh.

Sure, fill out the forms for a new GC with name change and get ready to PAY. Check the USCIS website for the proper form number for replacement of of the GC (I think I-90) and send it in with a copy of your marriage license...AGAIN...and the filing fee (I think $345) Her passport needs to be changed in her home country or a consulate from her country in the USA, she doesn NOT get a US passport yet. You will have to check with her country's rules and regulations on that.

My GC printed on my original name although we applied it to my husband's first name due to INS's mistake and they said we have to apply for name change and that will cost like $290ish. Just tell her wait til her citizenship test.

i corrrected it to *my husband's last name
