hello guys , got question, i was just reading about affidavit and poverty guidelines , my question is , does my hubby's annual income has to be over $25,000 in order to qualify and need not get a co sponsor? can you enlighten me on this?

and also he is going to send me 08 tax return for my signature as he filed for joint tax return , I plan on having it photocopied before sending it back ; also he will apply for my SSN on my behalf coz IRS needs it before he can file for joint return , I have already send him a certified copy of my passport and SSN signed application form;

can I use this photocopied tax return when I have my interview with the embassy?

thanks.

If you are not here and have never been here and are not currently work authorized.... You are NOT eligible for an SSN...

YMMV

If it is just you and your husband the income requirement has to meet or exceed 125% of the poverty guidelines which is currently 22,000 dollars. From my understanding the Philippines usually won't let you use a co-sponsor but that may not be the case. Good luck. Mike

If it is a CR-1/IR-1 the affidavit is reviewed by NVC and they will allow it
