N 400 Processing times

Have the N 400 processing times slowed down at most centers. A month ago most centers showed the processing times as " 5 Months " or " 6 Months" . Now when I look at them it says " October 2008" or similar dates for most centers. Is there any reason why this is so ... or is it just that USCIS is overwhelmed with N 400 applications ?

I thought it was speeding up, if you look and compare trends of the Filers by month it seems faster ?

Everything in USCIS can be a mistery.

For example, i never got fingerprinted after i filed the N-400. i wasn't getting an appointment letter so I called and i just asked if it is possible that my biometrics for the 751 are still valid and he said absolutely not because this is a new application and every application requries Biometrics. However, i passed my interview this week without being fingerprinted again...

It is 5-6 months still, is not ? Because the dates are as of 31 March, 2009, not as of today.

So it does not tell me that processing times are longer.

What do you think?

I am now a US citizen.

I agree with what you are saying KroMix .. but then why would the processing times on the USCIS website indicate a different story ... it's just a mystery to me.

Well its probably for the very same reason my online status says "your N-400 application has been received, please wait until further notice" since day one, and I am at the Interview step......

In other words, they don't update ####### online and if they do, its wrong. It's like the Internet Updating Dept. @ USCIS is a Monkey who does things on a whim.

They don't even have my field office on there, MIAMI has 3 or 4 new field offices , none show up online for status of processing times, it still only shows the original MIAMI DO ....

USCIS + Online Updates = FAIL

I think thats probably just the maximum times. I see people at other districts or later application dates who have gotten earlier interviews or have taken the oath before me. But then there are others who are a month or so behind. I think their numbers may be an average or reflect the last applications for that period. However, I agree it seems the applications are speeding up each month
