I guess I'm worried a little because there have been no k1s to do the interview without their SO being there too. I included a note as to why I couldn't be there...but now I think I should have gotten the doctor to write one. A said that it will be fine...he will just tell them about all the surgeries and what I have been dealing with.

That's understandable, but on the other hand you guys have 4 years worth of evidence!!

I am BEYOND pissed!!

Sunday I made ackee and saltfish, ackee =$15 saltfish probably $5.

Put in the fridge, and was eating some here and there. Look in the fridge this morning, it's gone. My MIL THREW IT OUT because she thought I didn't want it??????????????????????????

I am so frigging pissed, would I see her LOBSTER TAILS or her STEAK and throw it out???? #######?????

She did that mess on purpose! She would be coughing up the $$ to buy more...simple as that. Doesn't she know ackee is a delicacy...shoot is almost as expensive as caviar. OOOOO that would have my temper BOILLLLLIIIINNNNGGGG!!!!

Jawi, calm down sis, it's only 8:10 in Jamaica...you're going to make yourself crazy, too bad I'm not there to keep you company.

Shemmy, let me know if you're going to attend the Pretty in Pink party at ATI, I believe it's August 7th -- looks like we'll be in Negril from August 4th for a wedding.

Okay...we arrive onthe 7th so we'll link up if you're still there. I believe there's a white party too that night. I'm confused by all the parties  Dream (former RTI, I believe) and ATI parties.

Jawi - I am praying you will be pain free soon. I'm sure A will have no problems at the Embassy. I keep thinking about those wires in your neck last December. Are they still there?

Oh Shemmy! How cute! I thought I told you guys about that machine. The wires are removable...they only stick on with little adhesive patches to stimulate bone growth. It doesn't hurt at all. Yes, I still have it...I need to start wearing it again...anything to aid in my healing.

Jawi, today's the day Chica!!! Can't wait to hear the good news. (F)

Sus - Culture was AWESOME last night!!! I took some photos for you (not that you probably need any  ) We had a great date night last night - I found a Jamaican restaurant in Albany so we went out to dinner before the show. You should've seen our faces when we walked into the rest - I was excited cuz they had patties and Gizzada and carrott-mango juice. A had a large codfish and callaloo and curry goat soup - I have never seen him eat so fast!!

Glad you enjoyed it - I have been really impressed by Kenyatta - each time I have seen him he has come more into his own, and it amazes me that he never tried to sing before his Dad passed - I think he's going to be a stronger force in music than his Dad was -

Can't wait to see the pics - (yes, I have alot, but it's always nice to see new ones, lol)

Come on phone ring...it's 9 AM now...how long will this take?

9 am here, Jawi - 8 am there - Soon come! I can only imagine how hard it is to sit and wait.

Islandwoman happy to hear about your date night...how cute...I'm so anxious for those types of stories of my own.

Sus please do not tell me that we are not on the same time right now! Shut up! It is 9:06 in Jamaica now too right? Oh #######!!!! It's only 8:07 in Jamaica. DAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYMMMMMMM!!! *Ouch*

No when we hit daylight savings time in what March they stayed still so we moved ahead of them. I hate being off a hour. In Oct we'll be back in sync with them again but then you wont care because he will be here...

Jawi' that's not true, I guess it only seems that way because the only information we have is here on VJ, but several of my husbands friends were approved last year w/o their fiancee at the interview. I think it really depends on the CO...now, I'm not going to say anything about the doctor's note  -- now go relax or pretend to

:ot: I need some opinions - Anthony and I have been discussing Jr flying here (WHEN he ever gets that visa). I was planning on going down to get him, but A says that he can/will fly here by himself - said it makes no sense in spending that extra money (which we don't really have) for my ticket. He is 11 so definitely not a baby, but has never flown before - let alone left Jamaica.

And of course on the Today show this morning there was a story about Continential Airlines sending an 8 year old and a 10 year old on the wrong flight - two separate incidences.

I wouldnt want him to fly alone and while he may be perfectly capable to take the journey on his own . it his first time and he may be nervous and need you .

I would let him fly by himself!!! My then 7 year old flew to England by himself no problems. Money would be better spent on him when he gets here.

I would look into it - I know that Air JA has a program where they will escort the child, even through the immigration -

Found the link:

http://airjamaica.com/minors.aspx

It's a $100 fee to the US - I would check Jet Blue too - As long as he was on a direct flight, I would think he would be okay.

Morning yardies! Thanks for all the well wishes for A's interview. I have been up since 6 AM staring off in the dark. I'm ready for the phone to ring. Why didn't you guys tell me that this is so nerve wracking? I guess because you guys are there with them huh? I'm in a lot of pain right now...but I'm trying to follow the directions on the meds for every 8 hours...I took them last night around 11 so I guess it's time now. I didn't want to be drowsy and half asleep when he calls...but I guess I have to take them.

DaDa...he wouldn't require me to trade another important relationship for ours...so that won't be a problem. LOL. I have to get up and try to get around because it makes the pain more manageable...if my body doesn't stiffen up. I should have stayed at my friend's house though because I'm home alone all day and I still can't do a lot of things.

I tried to open a pill bottle yesterday and I did something wrong with my head because I experienced the worst pain in my neck and shoulder that I could ever dream of. A was yelling in the phone trying to find out if I was okay because I just started screaming and crying.

Come on phone ring...it's 9 AM now...how long will this take?

Awww Girl...you have to take each move very slow and calculating till your body heals better.

Try to find something to keep you mind busy till he calls. Was he in Kingston last night or did he have to drive down this morning? Remember he's an hour behind --- and that embassy can be slow as rass.

He would NEVER stay in town...only once when Baby A had to be admitted at the hospital and he hated every minute of it. So, he got a taxi driver...why dem so tief? Chat bout $7000JA to carry im a town! Cha!

Good Luck, Jawi!

Thanks JG!

And of course on the Today show this morning there was a story about Continential Airlines sending an 8 year old and a 10 year old on the wrong flight - two separate incidences.

I think most airlines have a pretty safe track record with escorting kids. I think you can give Jr enough info to know what city he should look for on the signs before he boards the plane(s). Is there any way you can get him a direct flight to avoid the possibility of him being placed on the wrong flight?

Too much to keep up with. I'll see how it goes.

Hey sis...if I pay for my airfare can I come crash with you? I want to travel all over Jamaica too. I won't get in the way...I promise. I have my walker and my neck brace all ready.

Jawi think about it when you turn a pill bottle especially the ones that are kids proof think about how much muscle sometimes you have to put into it. Even though its simple and little it still takes a lot so you probably used a muscle that wasn’t ready to be moved. I hope you left the darn lid off. Cho girl you got me hot. BE CAREFUL!!!!

But JA is a hour behind us memba so its only 8 there.. Maybe you should take them meds because it might help to relax but babe believe me when that phone rings you could be under anesthesia and you'll wake up only if its to say yayyyy and then call him back in 6 hours when it wears off a likkle!!! LOL

I let my son open it but I put the top back on it to keep it away from my youngest. I'm going to take the pills now and hopefully I won't be too out of it when he calls.

I guess I'm worried a little because there have been no k1s to do the interview without their SO being there too. I included a note as to why I couldn't be there...but now I think I should have gotten the doctor to write one. A said that it will be fine...he will just tell them about all the surgeries and what I have been dealing with.

That's understandable, but on the other hand you guys have 4 years worth of evidence!!

yeah we do and it is all organized by type of evidence and year. LOL The first binder that is still in Canada was the best by far...but I did okay with the 2nd one too...I hope.

Hey TL; I'm not sure which airline you're using, but my cousin daugther, 5 years old, flew from Mobay to New York on Air Jamaica, but she was not alone, an AJ agent/rep was with her the entire time and they're very good at this. I can't testify for other airlines, but having flown many times alone on Air Jamaica I've never had any problems, but I understand your concerns. I don't know how I would handle if it were connecting flights.
