Do I need copies of my fiancee's passport and birth certificate for the I-129f packet? What about for the I-134? I was told that I do but I don't see where I need it for the packet. I was told that I did but is there a misunderstanding? Please help. I was going to send my information in this month but a lawyer said that I needed this information so I held off until I had both.

passport- no, unless the USCIS updated some requirements. I remember when my husband filed I-129F he only ask for my birth certificate because I am on the process of getting a passport at that time. for the I-134, sorry I can't help you with you that.

correct, it is not a requirement to submit a copy of the beneficiary's birth certificate and/or passport with the I-129f. you do need to include a passport style photo. The I-134 Affidavit of Support is not submitted with the I-129f. It is used for the Visa Interview at the Embassy

I'm assuming that you are filing for a K-1 visa. If you are starting the petition for the I-129f you do not need your fiancees passport or birth certificate when filing the petition. You will need two passport size photos of your fiancee and other supporting evidence of bonefied(pictures, airline ticket, etc.....) Once you get approve and your petitions are sent to NVC that's when you'll get orignal or certified copies of documents(birth certificate). Then copy of fiancee biographic page of passport. But for now... you do not need your fiancee's passport and birth certificiate.

Just curious why do you have a lawyer? You may be wasting your money.

No. You will need those things for the interview, not the petition (I-129f) Try not to listen to lawyers, they do not know much about this. Good example of how lawyers delay things.

If your fiancee is divorced you need her DIVORCE certificate for the I-129f. other than that the only things from her are the fiancee letter of intent and G-325a
