Hey all, we are finishing up the Civil Surgeon appointment tomorrow and will be mailing our package in right afterwards. I wanted to post here my checklist and get some feedback if possible.

All forms filled out with Wife's translated first name, and married name.

I-485:

  • Table of Contents
  • Check for $1010 paypable to U.S. Department of Homeland Security
  • Copy of Wife's passport (all pages)
  • Copy of Wife's I-94
  • Copy of Wife's Birth Certificate, translated, and original
  • Copy of marriage certificate
  • Two passport photos for Wife
  • G325a for Wife
  • G325a for Me
  • I693
  • I765

    1. Two passport photos of Wife
I864

  1. Copy of 2008 tax return
  2. Copy of 2008 W2s

I-130:

  • Table of Contents
  • Check for $355 payable to U.S. Department of Homeland Security
  • Copy of Wife's passport (all pages)
  • Copy of my passport (all pages)
  • Copy of Wife's Birth Certificate, translated, and original
  • One passport photo of Wife
  • One passport photo of Me
  • G325a for Wife
  • G325a for Me
  • Evidence of Marriage

    1. Marriage certificate
    2. Copy of Bank Statement (has her maiden name, they would not allow married name without Social Security card)

03/03/2009 - Arrival in the US!

05/03/2009 - Married!

05/28/2009 - Filed I-130, I-485, I-765!

06/04/2009 - Checks cleared!

06/08/2009 - I-765/I-130 NOA Received!

06/10/2009 - I-485 NOA Received!

06/11/2009 - Biometrics appointment letter, scheduled 06/23/2009

06/17/2009 - I-765/I-130 Touched!

06/19/2009 - Attempted early biometrics... they said nope!

06/23/2009 - Biometrics completed.

07/07/2009 - EAD card production ordered.

07/13/2009 - EAD card production ordered, again.

07/14/2009 - I-765 - Approval notice sent.

07/15/2009 - EAD card received!

07/20/2009 - SS Card applied for.

08/05/2009 - Received Interview letter - Scheduled 9/14!

09/14/2009 - Rescheduled because we moved to Dallas

10/14/2009 - Interview - approved!

10/23/2009 - GC Received.

You don't need your G-325 for the 485.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

Hi Terry! I'm sending the same forms you are :), however i thought you didn't need to send a copy of Alien's passport or birth certificate translated and the original with form I-130 only USC birth certificate or copy of USC passport (all pages). and you get to send Copy of Wife's passport (all pages) and Copy of Wife's Birth Certificate, translated, and original with I-485 is this correct?

July.22.2009 Sent our AOS paperwork I-130(g-325) and I-485(I-131, I-765, I-864, g-325)

July.28.2009 Immigration Received Paperwork

July.31.2009 Received NOA (I-130, I-765, I-485, I-131) and ASC Appointment Notice

August.27.2009 ASC Appointment (biometrics)

September.01.2009 Card production ordered

September.02.2009 Received Approval notice I-765

September.04.2009 Received Advance parole in the mail (I-131) =) yaaay i get to go home in December!

September. 11.2009 Received employment card :)

September.14.2009 Received Request to appear for initial interview

October.21.2009 INTERVIEW

Got approved that same day and i received my Residency Card 2 weeks later

Hi Terry! I'm sending the same forms you are :), however i thought you didn't need to send a copy of Alien's passport or birth certificate translated and the original with form I-130 only USC birth certificate or copy of USC passport (all pages). and you get to send Copy of Wife's passport (all pages) and Copy of Wife's Birth Certificate, translated, and original with I-485 is this correct?

Checklist here, http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...page=i130guide2, says to include birth certificate, or passport, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to put both in there. I didn't find any place in the I-130 instructions requiring it though.
