I've been trying to call to see the status of my case and all I'm getting is a busy tone...is anyone else experiencing this?

USCIS: CSC

2008-09-20 : I-130 Sent

2008-09-25 : NOA1

2008-09-27 : Touched

2009-02-03 : Touched

2009-02-06 : RFE Sent :(

2009-02-09 : RFE Hard copy received

2009-02-10 : Sent evidence; Certified Priority mail

2009-02-12 : USCIS Received RFE response; Case resumed

2009-02-13 : I-130 Approved

2009-02-20 : NOA2 Hardcopy received

NVC:

2009-02-20 : Case Number Assigned

2009-03-05 : Received NVC Packet

2009-04-18 : Paid AOS and IV Bill

2009-05-22 : Sent I-864

2009-05-26 : NVC recieved I-864 ( Memorial Day)

2009-05-22 : NVC Generated some sort of packet

2009-05-26 : As of May 26 NVC is waiting for my DS-230

2009-06-14 : Sent DS-230

2009-07-13 : Missing Court Certificate ( thought only police certificate was needed)

2009-08-13 : Case complete at NVC ( LOST a whole month :(...)

---Waiting for interview email

2009-09-02 : Received interview email..interview set for Oct 27, 2009

2009-10-27 : Visa APPROVED :)

2009-11-05 : POE

I-751:CSC

2011-09-19 : Mailed ROC Packet

2011-09-23 : NOA1

it happens all the time. just keep calling and you'll get through eventually. it took me around 15 tries last night i think. heh.

Yup! It means that there are too many people waiting in line to get answered, or just too many people calling all at once! The best time for me was early in the morning, or after dinner (usually around 9 to 10 pm). Keep on trying, sometimes you randomly get through!

Just put the NVC number on speed dial and keep dialing. You should be able to get through, otherwise as stated try late at night. That's when I was usually able to get through.

Best time to call NVC is around 7:30 PM eastern time.

In is the second shift and people working in second shift are very helpful. That laways worked for me.

I-130 sent 7/27/08

NOA1 8/01/08

NOA2 11/26/08

Interview 3/31/09 Passed

Arrival in US 4/14/09

POE : Chicago

First welcome letter 4/28/09

Second welcome letter 5/5/09

SSN applied 5/8/09

Green Card received 5/9/09

SSA mailed the SSN in mail....never received the mail...US postal screwed it

Re applied SSN ---got the SSN...hope this time to get the SSN card in mail

SSN card received 6/8/09

Thanks :) I finally got through! I also listened to the message and it said an information packet was generated on May 22nd...what does that mean?

It means you should get an email with the link to completing the DS-230. The email has all the next instructions listed.

Check your email several times a day if you dont get it within 5 days call NVC and ask them to resend it. or go and find the info yourself from the State Departments website, thats what I did and that way I had it ready to be mailed when I got the email.
