Hi all vj members,

Very new to this site so all help and comments are most appreciative. Let me first say that finding this site was a pure blessing now trying to figure out and using it will be challenging. Anyways, Kaori and I have submitted our K-1 fiance petition to the CSC on May 11, 2009. Following the tracking info they received the package on May 14. We are being patience but i would assume that I would receive a notice by now. Should we wait a little longer or make a call and see whats going on? From reading some previous posts it would seem that something would have arrived now but maybe their busy or just taking their time? Any advice?

Thanks, thats what i thought but she was thinking we should have got something. From your timeline looks like your going to China soon. It seems that most people fly in for the interview. Is that a normal process or just shows that you're more serious?

Do not assume anything. NOA1 can take 30 days, sometimes more to receive. Your NOA1 date will be the day it arrived or maybe the next day. The delay in receiveing the printed receipt has no affect on your case. You know it is delivered, you just don't have a fancy letter to tell you what you already know.

Don't know about the consulate, but my WIFE would not have considered it "bona fide" if I did not appear for the interview

Depends on the consulate. For some it is considered and for others it doesn't matter.

Look at the embassy reviews, tab at top, for your embassy and see what others have done.

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

Welcome to the journey!

My NOA1 came in fast but I think it depends on the case and the person reviewing it.

Don't worry about it too much. Its only the beginning. It takes much longer for the NOA2 to come in.

Then again, it all depends. You can't guarantee anything.

Anyway, hang in there! and good luck!
