Dates??

How can we answer the questions on the DS-156 and DS-230 that want to know when my fiance visited the U.S. and left? We know the date he received his tourist visa as a young teen. But, his family and he never kept records of when they visited and for how long. I mean he visited when I-94's weren't always issued and he has no records of any actual dates. I think the only thing we can do is to put the date he received his visa and put "numerous visits to U.S. since 1993 with tourist visa" Any advice on the wording?

He has had new passports since he was a kid. And several of those times were due to a lost previous passport or the time he washed it in his pocket. So no unfortunately, no good records.... I can get on to him about it a million times, but that still isn't helping me or him produce any dates.....hahaah

That is what I was thinking. I mean things at one time were not as strict as they are now. Therefore, it was not stressed how important it was to monitor every visit. And since we don't have the information. I still have to put something down. I think I will go with my instinct and do as you did. If they ask about it in the interview, we will just reply that he kept poor records and we don't know the dates...
