First of all, thanks to everyone who contributes to this site. It has been a wonderful source of information and comfort to us as we go about this process.

We know that many of the experts here recommend against going the K-3 route because it is not that much faster anymore & is more expensive in the long run, but we are concerned more about time than money at this point, so we will do anything to get my wife & kids here as fast as possible. If it is one day faster, that is enough for us.

We have submitted our initial package, and today I received the I-797C, Notice of Action form. We are ready and waiting to submit the K-3 package as described in the guides. My questions (and please forgive me if, in my excitement, I simply have overlooked this information here in the forums/guides) are:

The K-3 guide includes this item in the I-129F Package Checklist:

3. Copy of I-130 Transfer Notice (indicating where your underlying I-130 petition was routed to after it was filed at the appropriate Chicago Lockbox).

There was no "I-130 Transfer Notice" form in the envelope I received today. The I-797C lists the USCIS California Service Center in Laguna Niguel, CA, however. Is the Transfer Notice a separate document that will be sent later, or is the I-797C itself the Transfer Notice? Will I receive a separate packet of instructions, and if so, do need to wait until I receive it, or (assuming that the I-797C is the Transfer Notice) can I send the package I already have assembled now?

Finally, does anyone have experience with getting a K-3 visa from Brazil? If so, any experience or expectations you can share will be appreciated.

Thanks again to everyone.

My timeline:

The I-797 Is what you need to send in with the I-129. Shows that you filed for the I-130 and it is being adjudicated at CSC. Not positive but I think you want to send a copy and save the Original for later or vise versa.
