Filling out I-765 and A.O.S for a K-1 Visa holder

Hi all,

I entered by New York 30 march 2009 as K-1 Visa holder, I had an Employment Authorization Stamp on my passport to expire on 28 June 2009 ( i didn't yet use this EA to work here)

After my marriage, I am currently filling out the Adjustment of my status Forms and i am working on the I-765 for EAD.

In this form , Should I apply for ( or check) "Permission to accept employment" or "Renewal to Permission to accept employment" ?

The stamp you got when you entered was no good anyway. In February the DHS revised the wording of the I-9 employment form which effectively removed the provision allowing a K-1 to obtain work with this stamp. They began enforcement of this new wording in April.

DHS contends that it never was lawful for a K-1 with this stamp to work by the wording of the I-9 document was vague. The employment stamp given at JFK is now valid onlky with a spcific visa to accompany the stamp.
