Isn't it funny that at a time when the President is enjoying some the highest approval ratings of any president. When the policies of the Democratic Party such as health care, dealing with global warming, enjoy an overwhelming majority of support, we have a minority who can't accept defeat and will continue to pout by pretending to drum up grass roots movements. Sad and amusing.

Stop gloating dammit! I hate that. :bonk:

That's not gloating. That's calling a spade a spade...and this amounts to nothing more than pouting. The GOP had 8 years to steer this country in the direction they wanted, in spite of going against much of what the American public supported. Now that minority needs to accept that Americans had enough of their shenanigans. The best they can hope for is failure from the Democrats, but they're so antsy, they've been declaring failure from day one of Obama's Presidency. Even when Obama has extended his hand to them, they want nothing but to continue playing partisan politics. So ** them.

No, you have been going neener, neener, neener ever since the election. Posting constant BS hit pieces about the GOP. You are acting like a third grader.

You have myopic vision, Gary. There are plenty of Right Wingers posting all kinds of threads. I have yet to see you complain about those.

(this thread....case in point)

Your volume is double all the rest. It doesn't suit you. Give it a rest.

When the Right Wingers accept that Obama's their president for the next 4 years and that they don't have to revolt against the Fed Gov't like crybabies because they lost...that's when I'll give it a rest. ;)

Huh. Republicans said the same thing to Democrats when Bush won (twice). The Democratic response was less than acceptance of the situation.

I know there were a lot of protests about the war, but were there actually general rallies equivalent to this Tea Party stuff or putting secession from the Union back into the headlines?

I'm not saying that isn't the case - but I'm curious about what events you're thinking of.

Bush won (once).

The first time was a coronation, not an election.

Get over it. He won. Whether or not you agree is completely irrelevant.

LOL. I'm over it. We are talking about ancient history. I'm just saying the votes were never fully counted in Florida. We will never ever know if Gore or Bush would have ultimately come out on top if all the ballots had been counted. Quite possibly Bush 'won' but the process was short circuited before we found out. A few years after the election (around 2002/2003) the NY Times did a story in which they did an unofficial count of all the Florida ballots and claimed that Bush really did come out ahead by about 500 votes. So I agree it's possible. We just don't know. And never will.

Now mind you, in Minnesota this year with Coleman/Franken we know! we know already! Enough of the counting and appeals - send Al to Washington NOW :P

I get the argument that Barack Obama won the election, however what should concern Americans is the selection of Tim Geitner - especially as he hasn't been able to pay his taxes surely no matter which political side you stand on this is a huge mistake?

Nancy Pelossi first claiming she didn't know about waterboarding - then clearly backtracking and desperately trying to split hairs so that she can cover her back end - not worried yet?

The notion that secret memo's regarding the methods of extracting information from dangerous people should be open for all to see? I don't know if any other country has been so willing to give up such information?

After claiming through out his campaign that transparancy would be the watch word - the stimulus bill was pushed through with little time to actually read it?

These are just a few things that came to mind - Maybe this wasn't the change that people expected or voted for ?

The citizens have the right to freedom of speech - as I understand the so called "Teabaggers" gripe is that they are just fed up of this type of governement - even being unhappy during the Bush years.

Maybe this is the a case of the straw that breaks the camels back - they voted for change because that was the presidents manifesto - they went against the republican party because they were being promised something different and now there is no sign of it - so to say it is just sour grapes seems an easy way out. Maybe people really have had enough of more of the same - so they exercise their rights and options ?
