Hi,

I'm new as of today to this site. I had to join as I am a nervous wreck.

My questions are pretty simple, so here they are;

For packet 3, I just want to make sure I only mail in DS-230 part 1, the check list, and complete the online DS-160 and nothing else. I ask because I was told that I also need to send in the affidavit of support from my lawyer. :blink:

Also; for the medical I made my appointment, but they have me sched. start of June, has anyone had a medical done before the interview letter arrives? It was suggested to me not to wait until the appointment letter arrived, as it may arrive 1 week before interview.

I am just nervous, and worry alot as I am 2.5 months pregnant (yes this was planned if anyone is wondering, as my fiance is miltary and will be deployed in the new year-and wants to be present for the birth) I am worried that the wait to get into Montreal for the interview is going to be over 4 months.... i can handle that even 5 months, but freaking about 6, as I won't even be able to travel to the interview as I will be right at my due date...egads, someone calm me down. :unsure:

The petitioner sends you the affidavit of support, which you include with your package. Your embassy should have a list of items needed to send back to them.

We received an email, and scheduled the med appointment. If you have the case number as given by NVC, you can do that.

Wait is a tough one. Our petition hit the embassy pretty fast, but we have to wait 3 months for the interview. Hang in there.

Thanks for the fast reply,

I just want to clarify.... so I do need to enclude the affidavit of support when I mail back the checklist and the DS-230 part 1,

I thought that I was suppose to just take it with me, along with all the other documents on the checklist when I go to Montreal for the interview.

Thanks , still a tad confused on this

This is consulate specific, based on the instructions in packet 3. Our consulate, Auckland, request the affidavit be brought to the interview. Send back whatever they ask for.

Also; for the medical I made my appointment, but they have me sched. start of June, has anyone had a medical done before the interview letter arrives? It was suggested to me not to wait until the appointment letter arrived, as it may arrive 1 week before interview.

Usually you can schedule the medical as soon as you get packet 3

Hi,

I'm new as of today to this site. I had to join as I am a nervous wreck.

My questions are pretty simple, so here they are;

For packet 3, I just want to make sure I only mail in DS-230 part 1, the check list, and complete the online DS-160 and nothing else. I ask because I was told that I also need to send in the affidavit of support from my lawyer. :blink:

All montreal wants you to send back is the Checklist and the DS 230 Part 1. Also make sure you complete the online form DS 160 and print out two copies of the confirmation page as well as the entire transcript and bring them to the interview. They do not want/need your I-134 until you go for your interview, I don't know what your lawyer was talking about.

Also; for the medical I made my appointment, but they have me sched. start of June, has anyone had a medical done before the interview letter arrives? It was suggested to me not to wait until the appointment letter arrived, as it may arrive 1 week before interview.

I had my medical well before I had my interview letter. All they need is a piece of paper showing your name with your Montreal case number. I brought in the cover letter of my packet 3 and this worked just fine.

:unsure:

I sent back my packet 3 February 18th and had my interview April 29th just to give you an example of the time frames they are operating with right now. Some have experienced longer waits, some have had shorter ones. I think 3 months is a good expectation... you would be just fine with the pregnancy! You could also e-mail Montreal and explain your situation and they may put you in the front of the line. Some girls in the Canada forum had June weddings plan and Montreal moved them ahead for this reason... a pregnancy is a much better reason. Don't worry! Congrats on the pregnancy and good luck!!
