Hi,

Just filling out my I-129f with my fiancee (US Citizen) here in the states. Not sure which address to put down for question 14 though. My fiancee's aunt (US Citizen) will be sponcering her for the I-134 affidavit of support. So do we put her aunt's address or the address where she lives now (she doesnt own the house either she lives with her grandma and dad)? She needs a sponcer as she is only 17 and doesn't have a job yet.

Thanks

Phil

You need to have your intended address be the same as hers. Anything else will raise eyebrows at USCIS.

But as far as I know, she can't be your sponsor til she's 18. Are you sure about this whole idea?

Phil,

The question is very simple, answer it as asked. Where do you anticipate living when you come to the USA after receiving your K1 visa? If you know now where you will live, enter that address. If you do not know where you will live write that down, 'to be determined' should convey the idea.

Your fiancee's aunt will be sponsoring you, not her (although someone must be clothing and feeding her if she's not working).

Isn't the sponsor ALWAYS the petitioner? And the joint sponsor sort of secondary, although primarily financially responsible?

I thought I read something about both parties must be over 18 years of age in order to apply for a K-1 visa.

The only requirement is that they are both legally able to marry. Sometimes that requires parental consent.

I know we should not judge but this one is irresistible.

Marrying a 17 year old and it is the foreigner filling in the I-129F? The foreigner seems to be in the US at this time....very fishy to me.

Phill - you didnt tell me that your fiancee is 17, inwhich case you will need consent from her parents or legal guardians that they approve of this marriage.

My husband put down my parents address as where he intended to live because he was staying there in the weeks before our wedding (we did not live together before we got married.) Like Yodrak said, it is a pretty simple answer. When you come to the USA where will you be? That is your answer.

Alexa+Reynaldo,

For an immigrant visa and adjustment of status - yes.

For a K visa - not necessarily.
