On the G-325A, it asks you to list your employment history for the last five years. Say you started your very first job three years ago, and therefore have no employment history dating back any further than three years. It says in the example form for G-325A to leave no gaps in time frame when filling out this section. Should I then state that I was unemployed until three years ago and then fill in my employment history as it exists? Or should I just state, for example, that I began working 2006 up to the present date, and leave it to be assumed that I had no employment history prior to 2006?

Also, on the G-325A form it states to "Show last occupation abroad, if not shown above." By "above", of course, they're referring to your employment history for the last five years. I am the United States citizen, and I have had no employment history in any country other than the United States. Therefore, I would answer this with "None" or "N/A". Now, not to ask a ridiculous question, but rather just to be clear, would my fiance also answer with "None" or "N/A", as he has had no employment outside of his own country? Or should he list the last occupation he's had in HIS country? Is that what they mean by "abroad"? Obviously he will be listing his own employment history in that country...Is that sufficient and he can follow through with "None" for last occupation abroad?

Now, regarding sponsorship; I'm desperately trying to find a cosponsor for my fiance, but it seems nearly impossible to find someone who is both WILLING to do it and is financially QUALIFIED to do it. I have someone in mind who I know is more than willing to do it, but I'm not entirely sure if she will qualify for it. She currently resides here in Maine, but owns a home in Florida. She left Florida for whatever reason, and is now collecting Mainecare, TANF, and food stamps to support her and her daughter. However, she's preparing to foreclose on her home in Florida and will be left with a decent amount of money. Judging by these circumstances, and I know it's all very vague, could anyone tell me if this is a person I should even CONSIDER as a cosponsor, or, does the information I previously listed, already exclude her from being qualified?

This woman is currently on a waiting list for a full time job that pays $7.75 an hour. Will her being employed for this job, in any way affect her qualifications as a possible cosponsor if she includes her income as well as her assets? Will this income enable her to qualify, or will it not make a difference?

=) Thanks for your help!

I'm the beneficiary and I can tell you how I answered the questions on the forms. I started my first job 3 years ago, and simply put the only employer I've ever had. I didn't bother explaining this, I just left it as it was. They were/are my only employer in the last 5 years. I filled out the job section with jobs I've had in my country... I've never worked abroad, as to me 'abroad' is any country aside from Canada. It doesn't say "Applicant's employment in the USA for the last 5 years," It says, "Applicant's employment for the last 5 years." For the "Last occupation abroad" part I just left it blank... Putting N/A or None would work too. Check out the example form on the site if you haven't done so yet, they are all very helpful.

As for the sponsorship questions I really can't help you there, I'm sure someone who knows will come along and help. Good luck!

List unemployed or student on the next line and then the appropriate dates.

"Or should he list the last occupation he's had in HIS country?"

Yes, list the last job in his home country, most likely his current job.

or, does the information I previously listed, already exclude her from being qualified?

No, it does not disqualify her. As long as the assets and the employement meet the sponsorship requirements, you should be fine.

Has she filed taxes for the past 3 years? If not, she'll need to file or explain why she wasn't required to file.

[should I then state that I was unemployed until three years ago and then fill in my employment history as it exists?

Yes

Or should I just state, for example, that I began working 2006 up to the present date, and leave it to be assumed that I had no employment history prior to 2006?

No

Also, on the G-325A form it states to "Show last occupation abroad, if not shown above."

Abroad means outside of the US. Read the Example Forms.

You may have to just wait until you or someone else gets more income or assets to help sponsor you.

Current job first...2006 - Present

Next list unemployed ???? - 2006

Next list anything else (student) if that does not take you back five years. If it does....stop, you are finished
