AP for K3 visa

I am preparing for the AOS package for my husband. On the I-131 AP application, it states that it is not necessary to have advance parole if you are: a: K3 spouse of a US citizen AND AOS form I-485 was filed and PENDING w/ USCIS. since my husband has a K3 visa, he doesn't need this, right? so we can go to canada w/out any problems for him returning to the US or should we still file it just in case?

as long as the K-3 visa is still valid, AP is not needed

Now getting a visa to get into Canada can be fun. I gave up on this after trying to get one this spring for Trisha.

yeap, AP is not needed if the K3 is still valid.

A tourist visa may be needed however to visit Canada, and shouldn't be much of a problem if you have immigration ties to the US. I don't know why Trish would have had difficulties, unless she had some history with Canadian immigration previously, or did not prove significant ties.
