Canadians Filing I-130?

I'm the American, asking about my Canadian spouse

Quick question. We're filling out the I-130, and question 22 asks where you will submitting for change of status. Now, as we're filing the 130 and 485 concurrently, wouldn't that be Chicago, Illinois? If not, then where?

Question 17...relatives other spouse/children. Seems a bit redundant putting in my name and birthdate again. Should I leave it blank or fill in it anyway under the 'more is better than less' theory?

Question 14... we were never issued an I-94, so have been advised to fill out a certified statement stating that though we presented her for inspection, they declined to do so. Should this be mailed in with these forms?

Also, are interviews done at the local field offices? I work for the military, finding time to make it all the way to Chicago could be rough. thanks

also, for questions where there's no answer, the instructions state write N/A or None. is this for all questions, or should we leave some blank?

thanks. I know we've been gone awhile.

Yes, enter your name here - yes it is redundant - a lot of this stuff is

Question 14 doesn't apply to you - that would only apply if your wife was already a permanent resident. I would mail in a copy of your certified statement with the forms.

Someone else will have to answer this one.

No, never leave a field blank.

If it's a multiple entry field, like, date you have travelled to the U.S., for instance and you only have one date to enter - it's ok to leave the others blank. But if it is a field like Your relative's address abroad and she doesn't have one - write None.

Just a clarification for your information - while your wife doesn't have an I-94 she was inspected. Presenting herself at the US border for admissions and being allowed to enter equals 'inspection'.

Canada has a special agreement with the US wherein its residents are allowed to enter the country without either the I-94 (enter/exit visa) or the I-94W (enter/exist visa waiver). The only time a Canadian would have an I-94 is if they entered on another visa that has a limit of some sort attached to it, in which case the 'time' they are allowed to remain in the US legally on that visa is written on the I-94. So, whenever you have a question that asks about an I-94, you can write ' Canadian - no I-94 issued' and USCIS will understand.

You don't want ever to say she entered without inspection, because that means she crossed the border illegally and did not go through a border checkpoint.
