Sorry if this is a repeated topic but my forum searching has not yielded the desired answer. I sent in my I-129f to the CA service center 4/16/09 Express Mail and it was delivered 4/17/09. I do not exspect to hear from them for awhile but my check has not been sent to my bank and this does concern me. Any other time I have delt with the Feds my check to them gets posted to my bank account in 48 hours. Do they sit on an I-129f check while they process the petition? I have tried to call the assistance phone that is listed in the Gov't site but it only leads to endless choices for recorded information never a choice to speak to anyone (even though I know the wait time, like for the IRS, would be very long) Any advice? other experiences? One timeline I saw on another internet site the check cleared the bank in 6 days (2003).

Normally they get to the bank pretty fast. Thye do not hold the checks typically. There are any number of reasons, though. They may not have opened your package yet for one reason or another. They do a quick review of the package, if any major items are missing, something is not signed, the check is for the wrong amount, etc., they will send the whole thing back, check and all. This can take 2-3 weeks.

Unfortunately there really is not way to find out. But I would expect you to see either the check deposited or receive the package back in the next week or so. Depositing the check does NOT mean everything is "OK" or that you will not get an RFE, it only means the basic forms are present.

I sent in my petition on April 17 and it was received on April 20th. No NOA1 yet or the check is not cashed yet. Looking at other posts it looks like the check get cashed just days after the NOA1 arrives.

It might be a couple weeks before they cash your check. My petition was sent on either 8th or 9th of April and check was cashed on 27th. No NOA1 either for me. Hope this helps.

That seems so odd how the check is cashed so you know they has to open the I129F package. It is so hard to wait.

They cashed my check within three days of getting my application. I couldn't believe it!

It took them about three weeks to cash my check. I wouldn't worry about it. You will now if there is a problem soon enough, which Im sure there won't be. Good luck
