Hi folks,

Did my biometrics yesterday in Kansas City. Took less than 20 minutes. The place was practically empty -- last time I was there for AOS, it was like a zoo.

Checked my case status online today, and I got a touch yesterday.

Good luck to all!

Hi Liebi, it went well. Parking is no problem, just remember you will need $6 cash for the parking lot, they don't take checks or any other form of payment. We got there just before our appointment time of 1 pm, parked, and got through security fairly quickly. Waited in line just a little bit before getting to go back to the biometric room. No pens to fill out the form! Grrrrr! But we wound up having the time to finally get a hold of one. All in all, it took us just under an hour to get in and out. The gal who did my wife's biometrics was also from the PI, so they got to gab a bit about home. When we left, a huge crowd had gathered outside waiting for entry, not sure what was going on, something big in their auditorium it appeared.

They gave her appointment slip the appropriate stamp, and my wife was very happy with the treatment. Just remember bring the $6 in cash, and bring a pen yourself.

Kind of funny, my older kids were watching TV to pass the time, and at the end, the show was interrupted by a Dish Network message to pay the bill or they would lose their satellite service. Had a good laugh with one of the workers about that, he said the government never pays its bills.

We turned the whole day into a family fun adventure, stopping at #######'s for burgers on the way down, then going to Family Fun Center and out to eat at Bahama Breeze in Tukwila since we were already there. Then on the drive home, a stop at Ranch 99 to stock up on Asian goodies, most especially stocking up on our ever vanishing supply of longanisa sausages. [Highly recommended!] :D

I am in Chicago, my original biometrics was sched for July 7th, I got a cancellation notice and reschedule notice for July 22nd but I decided to go to my original appointment anyway. There were no problems and they processed me just the same as my last biometrics (for my 2 year GC). My appt was for 12pm, I arrived at 11.50 and was out of there by 12.05! There were only 2 biometric people working and one security guard/ receptionist. They were not busy at all!

I hope that going to the original appointment doesn't mess anything up, but it's seems like it should be fine... Anyone else go to their original biometics appt? anyone else in Chicago?

:)

Thank you so much ready4ONE for sharing your experience!

I am a "plastic money" person, I usually never carry cash with me - I would have had a little trouble paying the parking fee

Glad to hear that everything went well for you guys

I don't live far from Seattle, so I think I will try to just get out of the city as fast as possible (my appointment is in the afternoon) before I get caught in that horrible traffic on the 5!

Had my biometrics appointment today. The two people working there (the guy doing the biometrics and the woman checking everyone in) were clearly in the middle of a blazing row (involving much yelling at each other, storming off and door-slamming!), so the 5 or 6 of us who were in the waiting room were shuffling around awkwardly giving each other "uh-oh!" looks. Biometrics guy was very nice to me, though, and I was in and out of there in about 20 minutes.

Nothing else to report, but thought I'd post to bump the thread! :)

2005 - We met

2006 - Filed I-129F

2007 - K-1 issued, moved to US, completed AOS (a busy year, immigration-wise)

2009 - Conditions lifted

2010 - Will be naturalising. Buh-bye, USCIS! smile.png

Got my biometrics done yesterday - and as I already expected: getting there through traffic was the hardest part...

I was chatting with the lady who took my fingerprints, turned out both our husbands are stationed in Ft. Lewis and both are getting ready to deploy... so she told me if I should be called in for an interview to just come by myself and bring my husbands military orders to deploy to Iraq and not to postpone the interview until he gets back. I am glad I found this out, I didn't know that and therefore would have cancelled and rescheduled a possible interview.

Hey there Liebi, glad the Seattle office was good to you. Was the gal doing the biometrics Filipino? Nice of her to give you some advice in case of interview, hopefully you won't need it though! Good luck!
