ok so now I am a US citizen and a UK citizen, do I still but British for my nationality??

DCF - London

18 Jul 04 - Police Certificate Requested

19 Jul 04 - I-130 sent

22 Jul 04 - NOA I-130 logged with INS

29 Jul 04 - DS230 sent

29 Jul 04 - Had vaccinations

14 Aug 04 - Police Certificate Received

30 Sept 04 - I-130 approved

30 Nov 04 - Received I-864 from co sponsor

04 Dec 04 - Sent DS2001

13 Jan 05 - Interview date 04 Feb 05

04 Feb 05 - VISA APPROVED!!!

08 Feb 05 - Proud owner of IR-1 Visa

09 Jun 05 - Arrived in the USA

24 April 09 - US Citizen

But if you have dual citizenship, doesn't that mean you have dual nationality as well? I know that sounds super weird, but look at

I dont know thats why I asked. Looking at your link then yes it seems like you have dual nationality too. I only ask because when filling in forms do I now have to put British/American

If your filling out American forms put American/British, if your filling out British Forms do it the other way? Better safe than sorry. I'm sure others will have some input.

I think it depends on context and who is asking for the info. If it's any kind of official/government type form I think it would be best to enter US Citizen in the USA, and British in the UK - not both. Don't want to make it more difficult for them than you need to, that way they have more chance to get it right first time :)

Just to add a note on terminology: All US Citizens are also US Nationals. There are a very few US Nationals who are not US Citizens. See here for a bit more details if you're interested: http://travel.state.gov/law/citizenship/citizenship_781.html

So when you're asked about your "Nationality", for practical purposes, it's the same as when you're asked about your "Citizenship". The person who wrote the form may have assumed you have only one, but in fact you've got two. Whether to put one, the other, or both depends on the context of the form.

05 Apr, 2004: I-130 Sent to CSC

13 Apr, 2004: I-130 NOA 1

19 Apr, 2004: I-129F Sent to MSC

29 Apr, 2004: I-129F NOA 1

13 Aug, 2004: I-130 Approved by CSC

28 Dec, 2004: I-130 Case Complete at NVC

18 Jan, 2005: Got the visa approved in Caracas

22 Jan, 2005: Flew home together! CCS->MIA->SFO

25 May, 2005: I-129F finally approved! We won't pursue it.

8 June, 2006: Our baby girl is born!
