I know it is a stupid question but I would like to make sure I have the correct answer. I can't find information on VJ about this, probably because I can't do a search with "I-9" only, so I am sorry if it has been asked before.

I received a job offer and I'll have to fill out form I-9. I am still waiting for my green card, but I have my EAD. On the form, I assume I should check that I am "An alien authorized to work (Alien #) ___ until (expiration date) ____" and NOT "a lawful permanent resident" (since I don't have the GC yet).

Is it correct?

07/31/08 Entry in USA with K1 visa

08/27/08 Married

05/15/09 Conditional green card received

05/10/11 Permanent green card received

07/28/12 Started naturalization process

08/31/12 Biometrics done
