Hey everyone, arrived on a K1 in the USA just so i dont get people confused.

So here it is,

I applied for a SS# on the 10th April and was told i would receive my SS card in 1-2 weeks. So here i am fresh off my honeymoon to come home to no post and no SS card. So i called a number to speak to a representitive and she looked on her system and told me that as i arrived with the visa i did, she said it will take 6 weeks, #######. I read on a few forums on here that they got their SS# within 1 week. What ###### am i being fed here?? Im going to the office where i applied tomorrow morning to get some answers, I would be greatly appreciative if anybody has any input/help with this matter, I NEED this SS# to get things done, like open a bank account with the new Mrs' and get my US drivers license and not to mention start building up my credit, so please if anyone could help me with this matter i would be very greatful.

Also i am wondering if i need a SS# to file all the AOS papers??? As we are looking to do that within the next 2-3 weeks, with a little help from you wonderful people on here of course who has been through this epic journey :thumbs:

It sometimes takes time to see your name on SSA computer system which should be cleared by USCIS

after your arrival to US. Yes it takes normally one week to get SS# if your name is on the system.

So you have to wait, there is nothing you can do.

You do not need a SS# to file AOS !.....

Hello there, if you haven't received your SSN card from the SSA office within 2 weeks, you can go back there and ask for the print out of your SS number.

"Have faith in God, Jesus answered. I'll tell you the truth. if anyone says to this mountain, Go, throw yourself to the sea, and that does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen. it will be done for him. Therefore I'll tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours" (MARK 11:22-24)

I believe, when the OP applied for his SSN card, he was told to receive his SSN card in the mail in 1-2 weeks ....His name was in their system already because when the OP's name wasn't there yet, they should have told him right there.

You are being fed. My wife (K-1) had her SS card in hand 6 days after arriving. We were married 8 days after her arrival and her SSN is on the marriage license. Speak to a supervisor at SS
