Dunno how threads on U.S. sports may fare on here, but I know I've gotten into them, and seeing as baseball season is underway, I thought I'd start a thread on it - if it dies on its #######, it dies on its #######.

I'm a Cardinals fans (obviously) and am currently watching the Redbirds handing it to the Mets (currently 7-3, top of the 6th). Albert has smacked 2 homers already!

I grew up a Phillies fan all my life, but stopped watching for the last few years, in the hectic time of traveling back and forth from England to be with my husband. But with the Phillies winning last year, I got back into it and Damian also got into it. My dad spent some time teaching him all about it and now we're off to see the Phillies play the Mets next Friday in Philly. Really looking forward to it! Even tho the Phillies don't look great already this year, but hoping things start looking up.

I am 30 miles from this. I nicked the photo as I can't find the one I took when I was last in down town Louisville. Nearest baseball team to me is The Louisville Bats sadly not that big of a team.

If you're in Kentucky, geographivcally speaking, your nearest MLB team is the Cardinals (I think). Trust me, that's a good team to follow.

I am a life-long Tigers fan and thus know pain and suffering.

2006 World Series, anyone?

How about 1968?

Though I think I got greater satisfaction that year beating the Evil Empire as the wild card when they had only been talking about a "subway series" a week prior than I would have done had we beat you guys

Lifelong Red Sox fan here. :D

Woo hoo!

Sox for me too. Boston-area native--unavoidable!

I also follow the D'Backs cuz I live in Phoenix.

Why hasn't more been made about how fcuking lame it is that the new Yankee Stadium is basically a replica of the old one? Like the height of baseball stadium design was 1923 w/ mid'70s renovations? I can see why they might want a nod or two to the old one(s) in certain design elements, but a freaking replica? And this is aside from all the financing b.s. and public park space lost to parking garages.

Further proof that the Yankees are a sinister organization (not that I'm biased or anything).

Welcome to Tampa! You are going to love it which I probably don't need to tell you as you wouldn't be coming.

Rays fan here too, watched them all through last season and loved the whole experience. I will be going to the Red Sox game on the 2nd as well, my company have paid for a box so should be an even better experience than I've had before.

My sons came over for two holidays during baseball season and both left ardent Rays fans also.
