Or, if you are applying for any job that requires integrity don't even think of using myspace or facebook.

Good thing I have a job of ill repute!

 Same here...they don't care...as long as you aren't engaging in illegal activity.

And if my hoes do give me lip, I just slap em across the fvckin face.

It really does depend how you use these things. Most people don't get into any trouble at work who have face book, twitter or any other networking or communication website.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

As I said, a lot of newspapers, media outlets and 'famous' people tweet as well as common ol Joe Blogs. The great thing about the newspapers is you can choose which one's you want to get news from, so it is selective. However, if you do not want to tweet, that's a good enough reason not to.

 Thank you, MC, for clearing that up.

Again it comes down to what you post. I could tell you a story from last week that had I been stupid could have landed my in hot water. I didn't post it, and am even reluctant to give details now. You never know! They're out there.

I think Twitter limits the length of the message, so it's not the best way to share something with people unless it's brief or superficial.

Well...thats how society is these days.

NB: Christ I sound old. I'm not.

I guess if you mean how we socialize in the digital age, like what we are doing now. If we didn't have these avenues of communication though, we'd be stuck with talking to our office mates.

God help me!! Ooops, I hope my office mates dont read this and tell my boss

I was referring to the brief and superficial part, and that it was in the digital age.

I've notice it happening on Facebook - people will state what they are about to do. I don't have an opinion either way on it, but sure is something different from normal office chatter.

My boss is on facebook so I am always careful with that, I dont even log in during work hours just in case. (she was added before she was my boss)

That part of Facebook is troubling. Whenever you are online, everyone on your list knows...so you can't be inconspicuous.

you can mark yourself as offline... but they will know you are online if you post something..

Well, it's all down to this opinion malarky innit? Those who do not see the point of tweeting are no more nor any less superior for that opinion - same with any of these things. They serve a purpose, if that purpose suits you, then off you go, if it does not, then equally you don't need it.
