Questions.. at DS230 stage, for Pakistan

Hi, So I have already sent in my AOS packet, and have payed my IV bill. I have my DS230 barcode sheet printed, and I have all the papers.

Can I send it in? Should I send in Part II as well?

And I don't have a police report. We can't get one until the embassy sends a letter to my wife. When will that happen?

And when will my wife hear about when the medical examination will take place?

I'm confused how this works!

Someone please explain the timeline at this point? Thanks.

u can send it as long as its generated and show paid and tht bar-code is printed BUT

1: u MUST have a police report ..thts from the requirements ...if u dont then wait till ur wife get it (the beneficiary ) or u they will issue u an RFE whch will delay ur case sometimes ..WHEN ?only ur wife and the embassy can know by emailing or calling

as of the medical : when ur case is complete and an interview is assigned ..the embassy will send ur wife a letter stating who to call and where to go to get the medical done

timeline depends on when u get ready for the above documents ..generally most get NVC done within a month if theres no AP (administrative process )

then an interview assigned as soon as the case complete wz NVC and also depends on how BUSY the embassy is

What's the point of James' shorcuts if I still have to wait for the police report which can't be obtained unless you have a letter from the embassy? Am I missing something?

DS-3032 GENERATED first ..then when wife fill and send it back (by mail or by EMAIL if u give it to the operator) that in turn make the IV generate ..so u can pay and and go a head wz its package

yes before IV is generated as i said above ..it wont be generared unless NVC receive an answer for DS-3032

DS-3032 can be emailed or mailed alone ...as i said u cant pay IV Package (ds-230) only when NVC accept her DS-3032..so tht means u cant send both together

IF and only IF ds-3032 was sent via email then u can make the IV package and include her DS-3032 letter as a kind of confirmation no more

yes at the end after all is complete

DS-230 require that u send original police certificate wz it ..or they will issue an RFE for u

and the situation u have vary frm anothers ..every country have its rules ...for me in egypt i go to the police station and issue it and get it after two days ..thats it ..dont need any letters ..so just let her follow instructions ..and dnt send the DS-230 unless is complete please to avoid any delays ..requirements are clear

u paid the IV

print the bar-code sheet tht show tht u paid (wait till it show u PAID online )

put the other package documents thts required (which is sent to u frm wife already )

then mail all to NVC

they enter it into their system

case under review

case complete

interview date assigned

email and may be letter send to u and the beneficiary wz medical and time of interview

Yes I did already get the DS3032 done. I'll wait for instructions, hopefully my wife gets them soon. Do you know if I get instructions/the DS230 packet as well? Or just my wife?

if ur wife choosed u as her agent ..then instructions are sent to u

DONT WAIT FOR INSTRCUTIONS ...sometimes it take long to get to u

as u get her documents ready and u paid and have the bar-code show PAID and she filled and sent u her DS-230 then mail the package at once

I dont think there is any letter needed to get police certificates in pakistan unless it varies for different cities.She just have to fillout a form,submit copy of her passport and pictures.Have your wife check this again.
