VSC and CSC ????? i live in california so wouldn't my case automatically go to CSC??? i did file it at the Chicago PO.. do they transfer it to local field office or does it go to Service centers ??? I AM CONFUSED

Can someone PLEASE let me know how the process works ?

Timeline:

K1 - Fiance Visa

05/15/08: Filed for K1

12/01/08: Interview Scheduled for 9:00 AM at US consulate Chennai

12/01/08: Approved at 11:30 AM

12/04/08: Got the passport with the VISA stamped :D

12/09/08: Got on the airlines and arrived at LAX at 6:15 PM POE took 4 mins

01/27/09: The big day - WEDDING

01/28/09: Applied for SSN

02/12/09: Got SSN in the mail

02/17/09: Got Marriage Certificate

AOS

02/28/09: Filed AP, AOS and EAD

03/13/09: NOA received (AP, AOS and EAD)

03/13/09: Biometrics appointment received

03/18/09: RFE mailed

03/25/09: Biometrics schedule - Done [dint take more than 10 mins including the wait time]

03/27/09: Sent out required info with regard to RFE via Priority mail to Missouri

03/31/09: Request to expedite AP [ Travel Document]

04/02/09: AP Approved

04/06/09: Recieved Travel Document [AP] in the mail

04/13/09: Recieved EAC/EAD in the mail

04/25/09: Recieved Interview date for the 8th of June 2009

06/08/09: Interview for AOS at San Bernardino CA - Passed

08/29/09: Green Card Received

Removal of Conditions

03/09/2011: Filed for removal of conditions

03/18/2011: Received NOA1

04/18/2011: Biometrics scheduled - Early Bio completed on 03/30/2011

04/11/2011: Approved

04/15/2011: 10 Year Green Card Recieved

All transfers are going to CSC! It doesn't matter where you live. CSC deals with AOS' transfers.

Adjustment of Status

Dec 3, 2008 - Aug 20, 2009 (approval on August 7th)

Removing of Conditions

May 9, 2011 - October 4, 2011 (approval on September 28th)

Naturalization

July 19, 2014 - N400 packet sent out

July 21, 2014 - N400 packet delivered

July 23, 2014 - received email/text that I-797 is issued

July 26, 2014 - received I-797 in mail

August 11, 2014 - received the Biometrics notification

August 14, 2014 - biometrics walk-in (original date August 20)

August 18, 2014 - in line for interview scheduling

September 9, 2014 - yellow letter is received (letter is issued September 3)

November 3, 2014 - interview notice is issued (email/text alert)

November 10, 2014 - interview notice received with the interview date of December 11, 2014.

November 10, 2014 - request to reschedule mailed out

December 5, 2014 - interview notice is sent out (email/text alert)

December 11, 2014 - received an interview letter in mail

January 10, 2015 - interview on Saturday at 7am

January 26, 2015 - sent the requested documentation

February 26, 2015 - oath letter is issued (email/text alert)

March 2, 2015 - oath letter is received

March 18, 2015 - oath at 8am

Can someone PLEASE let me know how the process works ?

From the lockbox in Chicago your AOS packet is sent to NBC, National Benefits Center (in Missouri). From NBC your case may be transfered to CSC since you entered on a K1 visa. There is a chance your case may be sent to the local field office for an interview, but this is rare for adjusting from a K1 visa. Even if your case is transfered to CSC there is still a slight possibility it may be transfered back to a local field office for an interview.

If you applied for the EAD and the AP these will processed at the NBC in Missouri. Sometimes the green card is issued and no EAD or AP is sent. This happens if the case is processed quickly.

Naturalization

3/27/14 - N400 package delivered

4/3/14 - NOA1 receipt date

4/4/14 - check cashed

04/29/14 - biometrics date

07/01/14 - interview date

Thanks guys, i have noticed people posting that they got a letter that their case was transfered to CSC... I have no such notice.. Is it cause mine by deafult goes to CSC ? most of them entered with a K1 visa and have this notice.

There is no default to CSC. Your case is sent to NBC. USCIS decides where and when your case will be transfered from NBC.

Remember, each case has its own timeline just as in the K1 process.
