Hmm, pirates, yummy

There goes, MC...carried off by a group savage, sex hungry pirates. Please lock the door and clean up when you are finished. Thank you.

Jealousy FP, you need to watch that.

You use that preversion again and I'll blow your head off.

That's uncanny! However, I think FP wants a boy pirate to swashbuckle with

That's it...you are so dead in Pirates....prepare to be keelhauled, matey.

The EXACTO (EXtreme ACcuracy Tasked Ordnance) rifle will conceivably be able to fire accurately at far longer distances than are possible now by combating weather with self-guiding bullets. Yes, you read that right.

Currently, snipers are really only accurate up to about 800 meters. Beyond that, it gets much harder to reliably hit a target: At 2,000 meters, snipers can probably hit the side of a barn, but a head shot isn't too likely. This rifle could change all of that, and more importantly, lead to even more badass pirate takedowns than we've seen already. And we're all about the pirate takedowns.

written by an ijit who has never banged a gong at 1000 metres, for sure.

with a barret 82, or any one of a dozen different 50 cal rifles available on the US market, and standard nato spec milsurp i can bang a 24" gong at 1000 metres every time, with groups usually running around 15-20" for 10 shots rapid fire. the stability of the 750 grain service projectile is good out to 2000M, by which time it has slowed to about 1200 fps, as opposed to 1800 at 1000M. because of the increase in time in flight per metre, wind effect increases with distance, as does trajectory.

even so, it is possible to hit a 4X8 sheet of plywood at 2000M 8 times out of 10 if the exact distance is known from readings of a laser rangefinder (about $200 and the size of a soda can). the 690 grain service projo is not as amenable to extreme range. handloaded bronze solids of 750 grs have a better ballistic co-efficient than a standard 750, so are more accurate at long range, having less time in flight.

sure, guided bullet technology with laser designation would be cool, and is already used in heavier ordnance all over the world, but cost per round would be measured in the thousands of dollars. thsi kind of technology has been around for decades, and miniaturisation of component to make it practicable on small scale since the early 90's, but it is just not cost effective. AAI dinged it around in the early 70's at the request of Wynn Barr, but even then it was easy to see the writing on the wall.

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).
