Our K-1 visa petition just past its 2nd month 3 days ago and me and my wife-to-be has been religiously checking the status online with our receipt number everyday. My main concern is, like I have seen so many people preparing for the proof of relationship before NOA2 gets in is the "affidavit of support". My question is, can I start consolidating up the requirement for the affidavit of support ie: proof of employment, bank or financial institution proofs, W-2's and income tax transcript this early? The reason why is that I am in the Navy and my schedule with the ship always varies.. I am afraid that gathering all the requirement for my fiancee for her interview will somehow conflict with my schedule and I don't want anymore waiting since we have been patiently waiting for almost 2 years now to be together. If I can avoid that trouble by preparing all the requirement which I can right now, how long would all this document be VALID for if I get them by the end of April? May 11,2009 is the 3rd month of the processing and hopefully receive our NOA2..any help would be appreciated...

You can email the consulate and ask their preference. All documents for the I-864 (AOS affadavit) must be within ONE YEAR and most, but not all consulates follow that for the I-134, Kiev does. Manilla may have a strcter guideline and I know most petitioners try o tget more recent information, but I understand your need. Thanks for your service and Kudos to your Navy mates good shooting! The man they saved is a fellow Vermonter!
