Hello all,

I finally sent my package today. My GC will expire this Sunday so I'm hoping nothing bad will happen. I was very frustrated with the package preparation. Anyway, I am going to put my list here.

I don't see IRS tax return transcripts/tax returns in your list. I am hoping you included them with your I-751 application package.

Did you sent money order or checks. If checks then you might get your NOA in 2 weeks or so. If you send money order then it will be after 1 week, coz they have to cash your checks.

BTW your fine as you filed before the expiration date. Now sit back , relax and welcome aboard for this long journey. Well you have CSC you should hear something probably in July or latest end of August.

I added 2007 and 2008 tax returns along with W2s. I also add the check in an envelope. I was concerned about lack of information. Hopefully, everything will be fine.

Good Luck! I didn't see driver licenses with same address or joint bank checkin/savings account statements on your list, wish you extra luck not to get an RFE.

I didn't add copy of state ID and bank statements. I wouldn't provide bank statement from the beginning of our relationship because that bank is not exist anymore. I couldn't find any info about ID copy though, please correct me if I am mistaken. The package arrived today and they got it. We'll see what happens next.

How am I going to hear anything form California Service Center? Will they send me a letter or mail? It has been couple of days and I'm starting to worry.

You will shortly receive a letter from CSC that is known as a NOA - Notice of Action - that is a receipt acknowledgement for your I-751. The letter is very important because it will include a sentence that says your permanent resident status is extended for one year and is good for work and travel purposes. This letter is your proof of that status. You can continue to work and you can travel. You need to carry the NOA and the expired green card together as proof of your status. The NOA usually comes a week to 10 days after your package is received but sometimes it is a bit later. A few weeks after that you will receive another letter called the ASC Appointment letter, also known as the biometrics letter. This will tell you where and when to go to have your fingerprints and your photograph taken. After that you just wait until you receive either notice that your green card is approved, or an RFE letter - "Request for Evidence" - which means they want more evidence from you about the proof of the validity of your marriage.
